I love gabapentin!!!! It really makes my thoughts not move so fast/obsessive In my head. I have been on it over a year and it has made a huge difference I can always tell when I miss a dose
Be careful while using gabapentin, it can be really dangerous to drive while on it and can also have adverse reactions with other medications. Do your research and discuss with your doctor first.
@TrishAH i heard about the driving driving is my therapy is it rlly not good to drive will on it??
@user111 It makes some people sleepy, that’s why they say not to drive right after taking it. If you take it and feel fine it’ll be fine. I used to take it in the morning and at night and never had a problem with this!
@Clurp does it take a while to work?
It’s supposed to kick in pretty quick and stay in your system for the next couple of hours. Not sure what you’re taking it for but if it’s for anxiety (like me) it usually kicks in 10-20 mins making my thoughts less rapid/anxious :) takes a couple weeks to build up in your system tho! Just be mindful when you first start taking it of how it makes you feel and you will be fine!!! It really does help me :)
Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.
i am starting NOCD therapy on monday and was just curious on others’ experiences! what happens in your sessions, generally speaking? how do you feel during and after? i’m excited but also nervous to start. i’ve been in talk therapy for years with minimal improvement with my ocd, so im hopeful to start feeling better.
I’m starting NOCD. I had several years of cbt as a child (well over 20 years ago) and I see a trauma therapist. But now I’ll be seeking further help for OCD and just really scared. CBT wasn’t helpful for me. How has ERP been helpful for you? Do you feel like you’ll finally get your life back? I’m consumed by my obsessions 😢 Would love others feedback if ERP helped you ❤️
