OCD
if I have OCD but without the disorder, can it still be cured? I really want to stop doing the compulsions altogether, even thought it doesn’t take up my day

OCD is a disorder. There are levels of severity and you may not have many compulsions or the compulsions may not consume your life. I personally only have mental compulsions. You can work with a therapist to ease the symptoms but I don't know if cured is the right word for any disorder.
Hey there ♥️ OCD is a disorder. You can be evaluated by a DR and get an “official” diagnosis, It’s not always necessary. With the right therapist you will learn the skills to overcome your OCD so it no longer takes up your entire existence. Hope this helps answer your question. Good luck 🙏🏽♥️
I’ve reread my comment probably 24 times and I apologize if it’s worded weird haha I’ve been awake for 3 nights🙄
ERP therapy (not talk therapy) can help you to manage OCD so it interferes with your life less - but it can’t be cured.
@Erin P when I say cure, I meant recover from it. Is it possible to still recover from it even if I have OCD without the disorder part?
@cantstopthinking I’m not a therapist but I think so. I would not get too caught up in whether it is a “disorder” at this point. If you have a mild case and want to get rid of compulsions ERP will help you do so.
@Erin P recently I have been managing thoughts well until my mind started automatically saying ‘no!’ everytime that thought pops up. How do I stop this? I didn’t plan on responding to it but now my mind is responding by itself
