Aversion to touching because of symmetry
I have had this issue for about two years now and I’ve never met/talked to anyone with the same problem so I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this. I hate being touched because if someone/something touches me one one side of my body, I need to be touched on the other side otherwise I won’t feel ‘right’. This creates a lot of issues for me because if, for example, I stub my left toe, I need to go back and stub my right toe. I was once punched in the left arm and had to punch myself in the right. It’s humiliating because I have to do this even when I am around people which leads to a lot of questions and stares. I struggle a lot with this and am wondering if anyone experiences this and if so, what kind of things you do to make it better.
