I’d reccomend telling your provider of this. However, I do have a friend without ocd who takes prozac (and stated it doesn’t do anything but worsen symptoms) but their provider just continued to up the dose. Just remember to stand your ground respectfully of what you personally want:)

I personally took prozac for around a year, I’d say around 60 mg when I got off of it. With SSRI’s it’s kinda complicated. If you keep upping it too much it will sometimes cause people to produce too much seratonin (which leads to low “excitement”) but it truly depends on the person, their metabolism, etc… Personally, prozac didn’t do it for me. And as someone who is currently taking Zoloft (which is much better), it helps, but not necessarily with ocd. There is know direct prescription cure for ocd unfortunately, so the best is erp.

Fluvoxamine has been very helpful. Combined with ERP, relief can be achieved.

I haven’t tried Prozac but I’ve been on Lexapro & Zoloft in the past. SSRIs work differently from person to person when it comes to side effects, dosage, efficacy, etc. I’m liking Fluvoxamine so far. It hasn’t even been two weeks yet but I haven’t experienced any side effects.

That is something you’d better discuss with your doctor. Dosages (and also molecules) are very subjective and often we think that increasing the dose might lead to a better result, it’s not always the case. Have you been taking it for long? Remember it might take up to two months for your receptors to saturate properly and often the first few weeks/month it may feel a bit hard because our receptors are adapting before stabilising. Ask your therapist to inform you properly about the medicine they’re giving you, I’m sure yours has done it already, but sometimes they forget to do so :)
