OCD train of thought
I'm starting to realize my OCD train of thought, which I think is progress. I was just doing laundry and I'm almost out of laundry detergent, which means I need to buy more. I haven't paid some of my bills and my train of thought is "well, I can't buy more laundry detergent because I haven't paid my bills, so my laundry won't get clean by Monday and my schedule will be off next week. I need to get my laundry done Sunday so that I have a clean start on Monday for work" When this happens, I shut down and try to escape the thought instead of thinking rationally about it. I feel like I think 3-5 steps ahead to make sure everything gets completed perfectly. It's this type of insanity that I'm tired of dealing with. Really, what I'm realizing is that I can buy detergent and pay the bills I need to and that they don't have to be in a specific order.
