@JordTheNord Of course, So one day I was sitting in my kitchen and had this awful intrusive image pop in. I could see the image as if it was close. It was so immersive and I could also still see/have awareness of the kitchen I was in
Oh I sometimes do blend thoughts with my current surroundings for sure.

@ObsessivePenguin Well thank you! And that’s 100% understandable because we are wired to fixate on dangerous or distressing situations. So we have to work on hyping up our good thoughts! And easier said than done of course. But it’s our thought and emotion process. We cannot spectate the two. We feel an emotion and we start having specific thoughts. We start having specific thoughts which will cause certain emotions. It’s why we get scared in movies. We know this shit is fake but damn will I turn away or get scared or get attached to things that aren’t even real. Like dude the director just called cut and the person that “died” got up to go get a sandwich or take a dump

@ObsessivePenguin Hmm it never feels like it’s around me but I feel as if I’m there in my head. If that makes sense or if that’s what you’re talking about. And it feels pretty real to me regardless if it’s in my head
@JordTheNord I know it’s in my head but for example, if I imagine my family looking at me, I can see them in my head right in front of me in first person and it’s really immersive?

@ObsessivePenguin I definitely experience that. I also experience watching myself in first and third person simultaneously as well
okay only answering #2 bc i *feel* like i have experience w this although i could be misinterpreting … for me sometimes i will at random gain consciousness of my perspective and then realize i can see it in a way that is either extremely close or far away from me - this could be way diff than what u r talking about but it fucks w my head
@hhsudidjdjjs This is accurate :) what about the other 2? So with question 1, I was in my kitchen and a thought popped up, I could see both the image and the kitchen and the image felt super close
@ObsessivePenguin hmmm for #1 this has happened to me quite a few times i think although i am not a visual thinker so much as i am an inner monologue thinker so i only experience this when i am having flashbacks of intrusive thoughts and yes they do seem close for me it’s even closer than the room i am in if that makes sense it’s like projected in my mind but it’s there. for #3 no i don’t have other diagnosis and i don’t use drugs anymore i used to used weed and i HIGHLY believe this spearheaded my recent ocd attack so i do NOT recommend if u are a typically anxious person

@ObsessivePenguin no worries! yes i have always been able to visualize my intrusive thoughts - before i started using weed it was worse even. just a diff feeling while high more bodily

Does anyone else deal with a psychic ability with OCD ? It comes to me in visions thoughts and voices and a lot of the times I am correct on them just curious if that's my OCD or not??
Guys, does isolating yourself from society make OCD worse? Because I go out these days and I feel like my questions are illogical. Because it seems that alone, everything becomes bigger. It seems that we disregard everything. So something that you would or wouldn't do doesn't seem to have an answer because you don't consider the other. Is this real? Because for example, one question is whether I would take advantage of someone. But the question is, does that someone exist? It's not something that's in my head. In real life, we're all human and you see them that way. So your debt is answered with no. Because that's how you are, when placed in society. You would only do some harm if you didn't consider this, but that would be your values, right? So OCD asks some questions that disregard things, right?
Hey all, as an OCD newbie, i have some questions. These might be obvious or stupid, but idk, i just need some answers. 1. Is it hard for anyone else to watch movies and not get triggered? 2. Does anyone else get OCD about their OCD? 3. Is it possible/normal to have a lot of subtypes? And i mean like 6 or 7. 4. Do people usually misunderstand us and assume that our intrusive thoughts are actually what we want to do?
