My daughter has ocd, what can I say or do to help her? I know nothing about this🙁 She’s in her young 20s. She didnt get a lot of help from the counselor she saw her whole life when she was a kid. So many things are going wrong for her right now, i worry☹️. Thank you sincerely to anyone that answers 🙏🏻
i would suggest looking into ERP therapy on here :) it’s been very helpful for me and i am about the same age as your daughter (not that it changes the treatment from what i know) but it’s changed so much for me! very different from regular counseling but very worth it in my opinion.

ERP therapy is what you're going to want to look into. That is what the NOCD therapists use. There is a free call you can schedule to talk with someone at NOCD. I would recommend also doing some research on OCD; NOCD has some articles you can read. You can also watch videos and read books that talk about OCD. I'm sorry to hear that things are going wrong for her. :( That's how I feel too right now. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!
If you go with NOCD, there is a support group for partners & family/support people of someone who has OCD and they can also help you navigate supporting your daughter! As someone with supportive parents who's had OCD my whole life, just know that your love & support mean so much. Wanting to learn how to best support your child with OCD recovery will be so beneficial. My parents found it really helpful to learn what's really going on when I have OCD and anxiety, as well as the things they needed to stop doing (in my case, they were giving me reassurance). Hang in there - once she begins ERP therapy, things will get better. Early adulthood intervention will give her so much opportunity to fulfill her bright future 🥰 In addition to NOCD, the International OCD Foundation has a directory for finding local therapists in your area (hopefully). Hi everyone. Any advice on how to help a teen with severe OCD, a teen that absolutely does NOT want to participate in therapy and continues to say “I like my life the way it is.” “You are just trying to change me.” Keep in mind, she does not eat anything at our home, does not touch anything certain people have touched, has special clothes for riding in the car, sitting in bed, and being out in the house, will not ride in the family car, will not touch people-any people, will not touch school books so she is falling behind in school. She more or less spends her entire day in her room. She used to be so social and fun and adventurous. During therapy she is sassy and defiant, completely different than her normal self. I have tried everything and can use all the help I can get. Thank you in advance!

Can someone recommend a book to help parents with a teen with OCD? My daughter currently suffers from religious OCD. She thinks the devil is going to harm her or someone. She asked me for help but I honestly don’t know how to help her. She is currently in therapy and taking Fluvoxamine, but I have not seen any progress and I think her anxiety is actually getting worse. Her therapist does not specialize in OCD so we are looking into other options. I am looking for any advice, I feel very helpless and don’t know how to comfort her. I feel like I am saying all the wrong things. Thanks
