I’m terrified of death. I was doing amazing for weeks and then this last week I have been giving into the compulsion of going to the ER. I had chest pains that took me to the ER, and the. Today I thought I swallowed a bug that then got lodged into my throat.
I know that death can be very scary. The idea of death itself and the wonders of what happen after, but it’s important to remember that we all will one day die. No one makes it out of this alive. I know that kind of sounded harsh, but instead of fearing death, fear not living. Instead of living everyday afraid you are going to die, live everyday like it’s your last and that you’re so grateful to live. Because we truly don’t know if we are going to be here tomorrow. So breathe in and out and remember God has a plan for you. Trust in that and cherish everyday.
I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. I also struggle with death and existential thinking, in addition to health OCD. Do you have access to therapy? ERP has been really helpful for me and I promise it does get better. 💖
@emilytravelswild Right now I’m getting medication for anxiety and I’ve been on it for a few weeks and although my anxiety has gone down I still have these thoughts. I told my mom and I have a follow up with a doctor later on this month so I think I’ll mention therapy then. What is ERP?
@emilie.25 ERP is the gold standard treatment for OCD. Highly recommend booking a free call with NOCD and watching some YouTube videos so you can understand it more. This was game changing in my healing!

I’ve been feeling really really depressed the past few days due to health concerns. I’ve been really feeling down like not wanting to be here anymore and it’s scaring me. I was in the doctor’s office this morning and I got a scary thought that said maybe I should just k*ll someone in here instead of k*lling myself. Then the thoughts continued… this man walked past and I thought “hurt him” I obviously wouldn’t want to hurt anyone let alone a bug on the sidewalk, but the thoughts began to overtake me and I had a panic attack. It’s still bothering me and I’m still scared it’s real and that I’m going crazy. This happens to me a lot after I watch a documentary about someone who hurt someone else. I begin to think I am somehow going to go crazy like the person in the documentary and hurt someone. Although I don’t want to .. I would never ever want to hurt anyone.
I'm having awful stomach pain and nausea and it's really worrying me and scaring me
I'm currently living through a massive health scare with really scary symptoms. I am scared I might have an aneurysm due to my symptoms but despite that the doctor's don't think it's urgent. I have some test scheduled but I will have to wait weeks for some of them. I don't know how to get through this knowing I could die any moment. I live in constant terror ever since those symptoms started. I can't function. Can anyone here please help me with this??? I don't know what to do?
