I feel like i want to scream and run with im on the phone with someone. I even got scared of the jake from statefarm commercial, like every thing has made me paranoid and scared. Making me feel like im schizophrenic or something.

@StoicGuy Yes ive been diagnosed with OCD
@StoicGuy Thinking im going to harm people. And then thoughts like im going to have a psychotic panic attack or something.
@Stl314 Psychosis and schizophrenia is my primary fear with OCD, the only way I’ve thought to somewhat undermine the fear is the fact that a person who was schizophrenic would not fear becoming psychotic because they would not realise. The fact that you’ve realised is complete evidence that you are not going crazy and are just under some severe anxiety at the moment. I really hope this helps.
@Stl314 Also, with the ‘everything is scaring me’ thought, this is something you could call hypervigilance, which is a kind of thinking a person does when they’re really stressed and because of that they are constantly looking for causes of that stress around them, or for future causes of stress to them avoid. It is a symptom of anxiety, so there is no need to be worried about it being anything worse.

@Stl314 Okay I have the exact same fears. Start small with easier fears it gives you confidence and practice with ERP. Also, practice ERP each day at certain time when your not already feeling anxious. I like to set a schedule. For the really hard exposures you can touch an item you think is contaminated and then sit with that feeling for 5 minutes before washing hands. Then try 10 minutes the second time and so on. Or, don't wash at all if your feeling brave as this will be the final step anyways. While sitting and feeling contaminated remind yourself that you may be contaminated and it is possible it may harm someone but mentally you realize it's highly unlikely. You just need to accept that it is possible even if it's one in a trillion chance it will work if you accept uncertainty. If you believe there's a good chance it will happen it makes the ERP very difficult so work on your mindset as well.
@Stl314 That was my hardest roadblock at first. I allowed myself to believe there was a decent chance my fears would happen and that became my mindset. I focused only on the fear and made it more potent. When I focused more on the uncertainty and extremely low chance of my fear happening it helped to confront my fears without exposures. Also starting small with mild fears gave me confidence to tackle the next one. Also, it helps to have a therapist who holds you accountable and that is someone you trust but this can be done alone. A therapist can also point out when our thoughts are OCD derived because to us we can't always tell.
I feel like I dont have control of what I say in my head that I feel like it's not me saying those things. I was trying to pray and I was cursing at God and the spirit and now I'm scared because I feel like it's me and not an intrusive thought. I have an appointment later and I was trying to pray about that in my head but now that I did that I feel like things will go wrong .
I came across a video that was talking about a theory and it was something me and my friend were talking about 2 years ago and were tweaking about and i was explaining it to my girlfriend just now and them i started to get anxiety about stuff not being real and my world isn’t what it seems to be and that there stuff out there and then i started to have religious OCD and then it went to how Im scared of the world being fake or suffering from a mental illness like schizophrenia or something and stuff and I’ve been having OCD about my girlfriend being a government agent or that government agents are watching me cause I’m scared of schizophrenia and thinking like them i don’t think i actually think it i kinda just go to my girlfriend isn’t a government agent which scares me into thinking i was thinking she was or gonna think she is or idk if i just saying that to bot seem insane or something but like idk if i truly believe that i doubt it i don’t believe it any other time and then i started getting stress i might hurt or maybe kill her and it scares me cause shes my everything and I’m scared of losing her idk guys I’m getting stressed hella and I’m scared of myself and my OCD I’m genuinely tired of it like anyone can ask my girlfriend and she’ll say i cant go 5 mins without ticcing (from ocd) or asking for reassurance like that life is real and thats shes real and I’m real and nothings wrongs and stuff, i probably sounds crazy lmaoo maybe and the sucky thing is i don’t have a therapist or a thingy going on for me cause i don’t have a job and or insurance let alone.
My ocd has been flaring up lately I’ve noticed some things that I don’t know if it’s ocd or something else whenever I seen someone like drugged or sick or just not “normal” I feel like or get scared that’s gonna end up being me? Does that make sense or then after a few minutes I feel like I’m them I don’t know exactly how to explain it I feel like I’m gonna start acting crazy or like I act weird or like them ? Idk exactly how to explain it and I have such a drop in my stomach thinking of it because it makes me feel insane, I haven’t had such an ocd episode so it’s getting hard again and making me feel insane specially because I don’t know how to explain this that I feel, I feel so scared rn can someone please comment on this?
