Hey I am also going through this stuff at the moment. You have to forgive yourself there is no amount of reassurance that he can give you that will make you feel better if you tell him all this and confess then ocd will find something else to latch on to for you to feel guilt or shame about. It’s because you love him and you want him to have all the information because y your afraid you will hurt him but like you said you have learned from your past and you are not the same person so just focus on being the best partner you can be now. I understand the hiv thing as well but the compulsion was to get checked the chances you have this are very rare not impossible but that’s what your brain latches on to the best thing you can tell yourself is is it possible yes probable no. And let the feeling pass.

@Anonymouslyafraid Yeah, I don’t want to ask him for reassurance. He knows I have OCD but not everyone understands how it works and always asking for reassurance can put a strain on a relationship. I’ll sit with the thoughts and let them pass instead of interacting with them. It’s crazy how new spirals always have me convinced that I don’t have OCD and “this one is real this time!”

You are going through a lot! It sounds like your OCD is latching on and trying to take you off course. You are deserving of love!

@OCDFamily Thanks for commenting. I wasn’t sure if it was OCD, I always forget how OCD works, and every time I get in a spiral I’m convinced this particular one is different and not OCD. I’ll try to give myself grace
