What do you usually press when you’re selecting how much time to warm up your food in the microwave? Increments of 30 mins like 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 etc? Just realized I do Just Right compulsions with the numbers… thinking about pressing 2:00 is making me uncomfortable
I always do repeating numbers (33 seconds, 66 seconds, etc) and something about whole numbers makes me so uncomfortable. But then when I’m at work or my bf’s house and they have one of those microwaves where you press 3 and it defaults to 3 minutes instead of a custom time, I try really hard to avoid the microwave. But I’m a chef and sometimes it’s really hard to suck it up and just press the button
Oh I'm totally a "just right" microwave person lol. I only ever hit the 30 sec button, take it out, mix it if it needs, put it back in for another 30 seconds. Only 30 second increments. It usually only takes 2, so a minute in total. Thinking about hitting 2 minutes is stressing me out 😂
@AvatarLaura Glad it’s not just me! I’ve gotta do patterns on top of just right warmth level (either same number like 1:11 or side by side like 1:23, etc) so 2 mins usually becomes 1:57 or 1:47 🙃

I have a really weird OCD problem. My brain doesn’t ‘like’ or has a fear of the number 6,9, and 12. When I see them or do something this amount of times it just feels ‘off’. I have to make a constant effort everyday to avoid seeing these numbers or doing something the amount of times as these numbers. I know it’s weird and ridiculous but I don’t know what to do.
How do you use ERP (exposure response prevention) to help “just right” OCD? I’ve never quite understood how to expose myself to anything to help me not do my compulsions since a lot of my feelings are just that it’s not right Like for germ/cleaning OCD they say to touch a trash can or something to expose yourself and not give in to your compulsions, but how would you do something like that with just right ocd?
Does anyone else do repetitive actions?? And I’m not talking about when we think “oh I have to do this three times or else my family will die”, I mean more like turning on the shower and just sitting there while it runs bc it’s the only thing that brings me comfort. I know it’s horrible of me and a waste of water which is why I’m trying to stop and find something else that brings me that comfort. But when my ocd strikes I just wanna sit in the bathroom with the shower on😭
