Anyone here also bipolar?

I have bipolar 2 and I'm medicated for both that and ocd. I notice my ocd flares when a depressive episode hits and they feed off of each other. It's so hard dealing with them both but my nocd therapist is a godsend and has helped a lot

SAME!!!!!!! I WAS JUST GONNA POST ABT THIS!!!😝 I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and ocd a couple weeks ago. I feel like it can make things 1000% worse. Liek the bipolar almost amplifies it or something, smh.. it can literally feel like hell on earth smtimes, and sometimes I don't even know if what I'm feeling is bipolar or ocd, or both?? Ugh. But here's what I want you to know: this is a mental Illness. The more you feed it, the worse things become.. I just followed u lol but I've had literal periods where I just couldn't stop crying, like aggressively crying for hours on end. Then I feel sometimes better, almost like I don't need treatment anymore, then , write back to the drawing board..🫤

I'm bipolar! when i got diagnosed it wasn't particularly because i was having mood swings per se, but it was after a slow decline that snowballed into something horrible. this gets pretty dark but I'll do my best to explain. this is also extremely long so feel free to skip it! I didn't expect to write so much so, the beginning of 2023 I seemed outwardly great! i was well liked at work, my professors and classmates loved me, i always had a smile on my face. but on the inside things were starting to change. there was something really wrong with me but I didn't know what just yet. so i got by through taking enough drugs every day that no one would know i was high but I could act like my regular self. at work I'd be as chipper as usual but when something went wrong... I'd go to the bathroom and hurt myself. and then come out as happy as ever. pretty soon i started passively plotting how to take my own life. i quit my job suddenly because i couldn't keep talking to the customers like i usually could, and i was the very best at customer service on the staff. i showed up at college high every single day and the days started to blur together. i was starting to have episodes where I would stay awake for days and days on end completely driven on something, feeling like nothing else mattered and i was capable of anything it took to finish whatever had gripped me. this was sober, and at no point was I ever taking anything that would make me hyperactive, the opposite, actually. come may when the semester ended I'd decided my life would too. i stopped spending time with any of my friends and only my housemates talked to me regularly. my OCD was becoming worse and worse and I'd have episodes of mania where I was horrifically irritable, hellbent on being self destructive, and my OCD would be at an all time high. i had one last birthday and then i made two attempts on my life, the last one i was caught in the middle of. by the time i got psychiatric help i was diagnosed with bipolar and put on mood stabilizers..while they were trying to figure out what worked I fully experienced everything bipolar had to offer. my manic episodes would be angry. I'd get so viciously mad it sounded like I was barking. i felt out of control of myself. I began to hallucinate often and I believed a lot of things that sound silly now. I thought my mood stabilizers were poisoning me. i was scared people could steal my thoughts if I looked in their eyes. I'd stay awake for a week and create nothing but beautiful art. then I'd sleep for 3 days and be unable to even feed myself. I'd run away from home and they'd come find me with shards of broken beer bottles on the side of the road. my OCD constantly raced through my head. it was torture. I felt less than human. but! the medicine worked.. I'm finally starting to be myself again, but I've got a long way to go. I'm happy to be alive, and my OCD is much better too. it's almost like the mood stabilizers treated the OCD too. I think mania (which can cause irritability, racing thoughts, anxiety) caused my OCD to flare much much worse.
