Guys honestly saying this...

I want to love God and not fear him and what I think is I am having least knowledge about my religion and want to explore more in it and one interesting fact about my religion is that It is not a religion, it is a concept, an idea, a principle based on Truth, Equality, Justice. It is logical, stresses on contemplation (vichaar) & application of logic (vivek) alongwith faith (sidek) in the path to Truth realization. Yes, it is a distinct, more fundamental path towards Truth. (I define Religion as an intolerant, insular, tribalistic power grouping based on blind tautological illogical beliefs & cultural/ritualistic habits.) despite of this beauty of my religion my OCD tries to convince me of things which are untrue like i sometimes laugh on myself how foolish of me being trapped in this loop but this is 50 percent decreased by acquiring some knowledge of my religion and want to explore more...this is what I wanted to share

It's all about what we believe and what story we tell about everything to ourselves. We can change anything we believed before. Even we can believe to a God of kindness, not that God is punishing or fearful God. It depends on what we want to believe or the stories told to us.

For me being a follower of God & a devoted Christian is having fear of God not a fear of like your scared or frightened but a fear as of not wanting to disappoint or let down and knowing that God has the power to do anything and everything at any time, but at the end of the day God does no wrong & however bad it may seem it’s for his glory & he’s putting us through stuff to make us stronger..for me I have 3 young kids & another kid on the way & I feel like I’ve went through everything that I have went through to be able to become the parent I need to be. And nothing worth having comes easy…You may of heard the saying before maybe not but “theirs nothing more better than being a God fearing man/woman”. It’s the truth..the peace that Lord gives me whenever I’m at worst and can’t face it alone only comes from him. I couldn’t make the change in my life, HE BECAME THE CHANGE IN ME.

Anybody else struggle with religion OCD? Would love to hear what it’s like for others! I’m a Christian, but more spiritual the older I get. Borderline agnostic with a lot of fear that I’m moving away from Christianity. Fear of hell even though I don’t believe in hell. Fear that there is no God, even though I believe in God. Please no responses with scripture! I’ve had way too many people in my life try to “fix this” by sending me sermons or verses

Does anyone think OCD makes it hard to be spiritual. I’ve slowly become a Christian over the years. And it really makes sense to me. It aligns with my personality, and beliefs I’ve had before I was even religious. The doubts I have aren’t rational doubts. They’re telling me I’m delusional, immature, and crazy. They’re thoughts targeted at me, basically that I’m being stupid. And since one of my fears is going crazy, I’m worried I’ve gone crazy and come to a spiritual conclusion because I’m insane. It’s frustrating because it makes kind me of unable to further my relationship with God. I also have existential OCD, and I’m afraid that’s why I believe in God. But my OCD makes me feel like if I don’t have all the answers that it’s not ok, but I know I can never have all the answers.

religion??

hi i’ve been struggling with religion recently. when i was younger i went to a catholic school that was very poorly run and as a result i decided to not follow a religion when i left. within the past few months dealing with my ocd made me feel like there was no hope other than turning back to religion. i have been praying more frequently and i talk to God a lot abt my ocd. however i just bought a new cross necklace and have been wearing it for the past few days. however i got the intrusive thought this morning that if i wear a cross it means i am a hardcore conservative christian. and although there’s nothing wrong with that if you are, it is most definitely not who i am. so now i don’t know if i should still wear it. bc i also feel like if i take it off God will be mad at me and i’ll go to hell. i don’t go to church or read the bible or anything my religious journey to me is just the relationship between me and God and i am extremely private about it bc it’s extremely person to me. i just don’t know if following a religion is a good thing for me to do with ocd idk if lost
