Don’t go to BetterHelp, I haven’t heard great things about them and they will likely make your OCD worse. NOCD is the best option out of the two bc all the therapists here specialize in OCD and are trained in ERP. However, it’s very expensive if you don’t have insurance- I personally spent $3k out of pocket 😅 but look around for other places that take your insurance. You can find a therapist near you, here: https://iocdf.org/find-help/

Those are both pretty expensive. I recommend calling around to local therapy offices near you and see if they take you/your parents insurance. I know a visit from NOCD is over 100$ a visit and a months worth of better help is 300$

Because of the type of thoughts I was/am dealing with (rumination, pocd) I decided to try NOCD, and I think that was a good idea because I was able to speak to someone that has heard of those type of thoughts. I felt more comfortable, and I did get diagnosed with Anxiety, depression and OCD. I don’t have insurance so I paid out of pocket and they usually want to meet up twice a week. I’ve only done therapy twice since I don’t have the funds to go consistently but it did help since they explain how to do exposures. It’s about $190 every full hour

@Anonymous Is it cheaper with insurance? Cause this thread has me discouraged I don’t want my dad to have to pay that much. As much as I don’t want to wait I would rather get a job and pay myself ☹️

@bloominglotus Ummm but she said she doesn’t have insurance either, so I’m confused why we pay for a different price for the same long period of time sessions. And I think it must be cheaper with insurance! I don’t live in the US so I don’t have any insurance.

@Anonymous The first therapy is discounted and idk about the second session I think you’ll be charged the same as me. It should be significantly cheaper with insurance but I don’t know, you can set up that free call and they explain that to you they won’t charge you for that call
