Have any of you noticed that when you engage in confessing compulsions you often feel like you have to re-confess because you feel like or realized you left something out. Or that this just starts a landslide of confessing?
YES. i have terrible confession ocd. sometimes i feel like if his reaction wasn’t what i expected, then i MUST have left something out. there are certain things i’ve confessed numerous times already. or mixed with false memory im so worried that i said something incorrectly and it makes me a liar. i also feel like once i say one confession, then i keep thinking of so many more and it’s always something like a landslide like you said.
I would have to confess something EVERY NIGHT and make myself go crazy to make sure I didn't let something to say, because otherwise my mind would tell me that what the other person had said wasnt valid anymore
Whenever I confess and think I get relief and reassurance it just gets worse and I remember a detail I forgot to add, as if it would change anything, and then remember other things to confess and start a new obsession. What a horrible vicious cycle ?
Is feeling the need to confess everything you’ve ever done to your partner a compulsion? My body and mind tells me that if I don’t that I’m lying to my partner about who I am or what I’ve done and that I should say something otherwise I’m bad. Can anyone relate to this?
My OCD gives me the need to confess things. It’s really hard and exhausting. How do you combat this, anyone else had this problem?
