So I am new to this app but I was wondering if anyone had any tips and tricks to deal with skin picking. I tend to pick at my eyebrows and I have before and it got bad and then I had it under control but now I feel I can’t control it. What should I do?
I am really bad at picking too, especially my fingers and my lips, i also tend to pick at my acne which ik is bad but something that has helped here and there is put vaseline or something i don’t like the feel of on the area i’m picking. it helps especially at night when i don’t have anything to do with my hands so it forces me to do something else than pick!
I have that issue too - I only started noticing because of my boyfriend tbh, and now I'm more conscious. I realise that when I'm picking my skin or lips I'm ruminating, so I try to stop myself but ita so difficult sometimes

Hello! It’s my first time using this app. About to get really personal. I’ve struggled with OCD for a long as I can remember. Picking at the skin around my nails, having “scary thoughts.” After I moved out, my OCD seemed easier to manage for a while. However, a year and a half ago I was rapped. Ever since that night, the OCD has come back and is so much worse. Being raised Catholic, my intrusive thoughts center around the fact that I am no longer “pure”. I know that what happened to me is not my fault, but my OCD loves convincing me otherwise. Sometimes it’s almost like PTSD where I have flashbacks to that night. Any suggestions?
Hello, first time posting here. Does anyone else suffer from bad health anxiety? Due to stress mine has gotten pretty bad recently and for a week now I've been REALLY scared of skin cancer to the point I have difficulties sleeping and I worry all the time. Logically, I've had my moles all my life and most of them are very small and round and I don't think the bigger "weirder" looking ones have changed at all (ofc, my brain keeps telling me to check them constantly and looking at them makes me imagine things and causes anxiety). I also keep imagining I'm finding "new" small ones all the time (probably just haven't noticed them before bc they are so tiny, light brown and I haven't been checking myself like this before..). This is just really frustrating for me and is causing distress. If anyone else has experienced similar worry, do you have any tips to calm down or force yourself to stop searching your skin for marks and spots? This new obsession is driving me crazy, and makes me feel really foolish, but the feelings are real and scary!
Hi all, I’m new to the app. I have OCD and anxiety. I am pretty new to my diagnosis- just 3-4 months- but knowing that there’s a label to how I feel is relieving. I also have dermatillomania (skin picking) which is one of my compulsions. I got put on medication- Zoloft- almost immediately after my diagnosis (I’m up to 200mg/day now). Something that has been coming up more frequently is my obsession that something bad is happening to my family. I won’t get into the details but I vividly imagine my parents, siblings, or friends being injured or dying. Can anyone who has experience in these areas give some tips? I feel pretty alone right now I’m how I feel and sometimes I feel like there’s something wrong with me.
