I have had soocd for 5 years and it impacts me all day everyday every minute. I’ve read that some people only have it 1-2 times a month or for like two seconds a day and it scares me that I don’t have ocd. Because mine is legit constant and so scary
Mine come like flare ups- but sometimes I have like to a month or three without issues. My life it probably then kind of „secure“. Well the thing is I probably have intrusive thoughts still in the „relaxed“ periods but I don’t give them that much thought and say to them „I will live my life and when I ACTUALLY have the opportunity and if it feels like I really WANT to, I WANT that person then I will experience in realife, your life is NOW and do want you enjoy NOW“ But yeah then there a things that trigger me and this doesn’t work and then my mind is like nope nope- you HAVE to Analyse and check everything and you HAVE to date women NOW!!!!!!!
Mine has been infrequent for years. Suddenly over the last 6 weeks they increased. Then this last 2 weeks they have been constant.
I have this too. everyday almost every minute it consumes me. i’ve been diagnosed with ocd. i also have serve anxiety and panic disorder. I know how this feels. Mine stay consistent all the time. you aren’t alone

I had it for 4 years and mine it's non stoping too, no matter what I do or where I go, it's always with me, actually I use to get scared I wasn't obsses enought for it to be OCD

@helpmeimsoscared Yep. At first I found out by myself. In 2020 I had some doubts because I had been having for years intrusive thoughts regarding death/causing harm to my loved ones (or even strangers). I tried to talk to my parents but they undervalued the problem, so I kinda put this idea aside for a period. In 2021/22 I started to have a lot of thoughts regarding my sexuality, they felt so urgent, like: "What if you're bi and you've been lying to yourself about being straight? You must discover it NOW". And I didn't understand why they came with so much anxiety and felt so urgent... so I searched on Google and there it was, ocd again. I thought it couldn't be a coincidence, and that's when I started considering therapy. It wasn't easy, the first therapist that I went to didn't believe I had ocd because I didn't have physical compulsion. But I've seen other therapists since then and they all told me it's ocd, diagnosed me and everything. Anyway I still struggle a lot to accept that it is ocd and not something else. In particular, in April I was changing therapist, I tried to see another therapist before finding the one that I have right now. Actually she told me too that it sounded like ocd, but some of the questions she asked me/how she talked to me triggered me so much and made me feel so much guilt... I had a terrible period and breakdown, I almost broke up with my boyfriend, I was convinced I was a lesbian (that's my new fear - I miss fearing being bi, sigh🫠). Right now I'm still kinda confused, trying to return to the right path

I need an answer to this please: does your ocd change? I have obsessive thoughts over something for months (sometimes years) then it changes to something else & the other thing doesn’t bother me anymore. For example, I used to have relationship OCD for years and years (probably 5 years) I’m still with the person but now I have a different ocd completely, I’m scared that I have no real close friends which I kind of don’t but everything reminds me of it and I have triggers and everything :( I hate myself, I’m also pregnant atm and it’s made me so much worse
Im thinking about it (the obsession) 24/7. If my mind wanders off for like 4 seconds, it goes right back to the thought and Id be like: yes, at least I didnt think about it for 4 seconds, 4 seconds release. Im constantly checking if I still think about it (even though I try not to it goes automatically) and that there is the thought/obsession again, I think about it. Its there 24/7, during everything I do, during every conversation, etc. I cannot live on autopilot, wander off or think about something else for more than 5 seconds. This goes on for months. Its driving me totally crazy! Is this normal for OCD? Does everyone with OCD have this. Is thinking and checking if still thinking about it 24/7 common in OCD?
A big worry for me is that the thoughts are 24-7, no matter what I’m doing. Sometimes the thoughts are more in the background and sometimes really noisy, but they are always there. I worry that because the thoughts are constant it means they aren’t OCD as i read a lot about thoughts coming and going. They also keep evolving, it’s like when I get more used to one lot of thoughts, new ones come to create more anxiety and that feeds another thought and another thought. Anyone relate? I’m exhausted and broken.
