TW/ sexual ocd This post and how chat gpt responded (saying it’s extreme and harmful and i crossed moral and ethical boundaries is now making me depressed. I’ve been non stop crying. I feel undeserving of life. Here is the post
If OCD isn’t understood by a majority of mental health professionals, it’s not going to be understood by chatGPT. When you are struggling so immensely with OCD it is going to make you do things you normally wouldn’t. You were doing a compulsion to rid yourself of immense anxiety. You still deserve to be here. The only help you need is treatment for your OCD. You are not a monster
@andrewt_ But the AI said that I am morally and ethically failed my cat, it acknowledged that it was a compulsion and understood why it happened, but it still said that. It said what I did is it really extreme and harmful. I feel so sad, I don’t feel deserving of life, even just getting help. I really am convinced I am truly a messed up person.

@dee012 Not at all!! I’m struggling right now too which is why I didn’t respond. I’m so sorry you are in so much pain. I know it might not mean much, but just know I have compassion for you and want you to get better. Don’t listen to your OCD. You aren’t a monster. A lot of people struggling with what you’re struggling with could do a similar compulsion. There is context to everything we do, but OCD disregards that. The context here is that you’ve been struggling for a while and that the anxiety and stress is unbearable. When we are desperate we do things we later regret. Don’t let this one thing define you. You are still a good person. I’ve also heard of people doing similar compulsions as yours and I have compassion for them too. OCD is a terrible disorder. You do not deserve to live with guilt forever.
@andrewt_ Oh, I’m sorry that you were struggling. I didn’t mean to assume otherwise, that is my bad. Thank you for your comment and your words. I’m trying to move past this and forgive myself, this compulsion happen a couple of times in the past(never me harming anyone or any pets) . It’s just super hard, as I feel like I morally failed myself. But I know with hope things will get better and also with therapy. I understand the compulsion in nature is bad because it is bad for my mental, and crossing my moral boundaries and causing me a lot of distress as it is clearly wrong to me and I don’t want to do anything bad to my pets. Do you ever deal with wanting to confess every bad thing that you’ve done? That feels like a compulsion of mine. I would like to keep in mind that if I was a creep or weirdo like I thought I was people would tell me that.
@dee012 No that’s okay!! You are very welcome. I’m glad you know that things can get better. It’s okay to feel regret over the compulsion and not want to do it again, but you don’t deserve to beat yourself up over this forever. Yes I have definitely wanted to confess, but it never works honestly. You may feel better at first but then you’ll find something else to confess. And here’s the thing, nobody is in a position to judge you. No one. If they had the same troubles as you, then they’d probably make the same mistake. But they aren’t in your shoes so chances are, they wouldn’t understand. Just know that it’s not your responsibility to confess to anyone. You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to. There are things we have all done that we keep to ourselves, and that’s okay!
I don’t know what to do with myself. I feel like I did something unforgivable, as there are actions that are unforgivable.(acts of pdophilia, zoophlia, rpe) I feel super sad. I cried myself to sleep, and I woke up feeling like I’m gonna cry. I don’t know who to talk to you, as ChatGPT also said that majority of society would not forgive me.
