Do I cause peoples death?

This happened multiple times, I see someone, I think of them something, and then they die after a while Im afraid that I might caused them evil eye or something For example once I saw this famous monkey on instagram and thought “wow is it still alive?” Then it died days later and the owner was crying saying that the vets didn’t know what caused its death since it was fine ☹️ I immediately thought maybe it was because of me This happened to other people too, like celebrities or people I know them in my circle, I kinda feel responsible for it and Im afraid it might develop into deep guilt

You are not responsible sweetheart god is above us all and we can’t kill anyone only god can takes them when it’s they’re time you didn’t do anything wrong

OCD wants to make you think you can cause people’s death. But that is not true. The hard part is that OCD will give “evidence” that you could cause people’s death when the people (or animals) you thought about actually die. It is important to break free of this, no matter what “evidence” the OCD gives you. ERP therapy is probably going to be your ticket out. Have you tried it?

@Tea and Honey Exactlyyy it always give me different evidences that sound so realistic 🥲 but Im trying to ignore it Yes I’ve tried ERP before, but sometimes I get stuck and forget how to do it

@lyn lyn I think you need to apply strict ERP to this. I understand forgetting—I do that too. But ERP will help you break through this. In the case, you need to apply ERP no matter how you feel and no matter what your brain says and no matter what “evidences” pop up. Keep practicing the ERP until you conquer this. So, for you, this means you go ahead and think of people’s or animals death ON PURPOSE. It will be scary. Tell yourself, “Maybe they will die, and maybe they won’t. But I am going to keep going forward with my ERP.” Keep practicing thinking of death on purpose. Keep ALLOWING your brain to think of the things that trigger the fear. Don’t fight off the thoughts that trigger you. This is ERP. Just keep doing it, over and over. It will work. You got this!!!! 💙👍😀

OCD with posts and online activity

Does anyone experience ocd really bad with posts they see online? I just saw a post just now about someone who said they’ve come to terms with dying in their early twenties, and it popped up on my Instagram for you page and i panicked. I’m 20 myself and posts like this genuinely scare me because I always think “It’s a sign or there is a reason it’s popping up on my page.” Has anyone dealt with this before or had an instance like this? Especially with those posts that say if you don’t share or like it something bad will happen, it genuinely freaks me out and I love instagram.

I wonder where these types of thoughts stem from

I’ve struggled with necrophilic intrusive thoughts for a while. Every time I hear that someone passed, especially if it’s someone I know, my brain will be like “you want to r*** their dead body”. It’s really disturbing and makes me feel horrible. I feel like I need to tell everyone so they know the “real” me and I fear they wouldn’t like me anymore. A friend of mine, her friend passed away recently and I got the same thought about her. I want to confess to her but I know I can’t. Does anyone relate?

did i cause a tragedy

this weekend, i went out with some friends who were staying with me from out of town and i drank too much. because of my job and mental health i very proactively limit how much i drink but i got caught up in the fun of the moment and drank past my limit. this morning, i woke up to a message from my boss about a tragedy that happened in my community this past weekend. my mind is rapidly trying to draw connections between me drinking too much and this tragedy. my ocd is trying to convince me that i caused it while i was drinking and that i just don't remember it. anyone else experience things like this? i'm trying not to seek reassurance but it's getting difficult!
