It’s definitely something you have every right to be concerned about. You need to tell him exactly how you feel about them communicating. There is little to no reason why they should be talking. It’s quite disrespectful of her to even say she has no one to talk to because she needs to figure things out on her own. She doesn’t get to have access to your boyfriend like that, even if it’s just friendly. I’m a guy and I have been through this before. I was communicating with my ex and I was single. I met someone and she knew I was still talking to my ex and she was talking to hers but we made it clear. The problem was that my ex did not take it well when she knew I was interested in another girl. I will always love her because of things she’s done for me, but I did my best to keep it cordial. She was also struggling and I was her only friend. However, if this new girl and I got much closer and she told me that it made her uncomfortable, I would stop talking to her slowly. I wouldn’t just cut off the friendship. The only way I wouldn’t completely stop right away, is if I made it clear to my ex I’m with someone and they continue to express romantic feelings for me, then it shows they aren’t respecting my current relationship and I need to stop talking to them. Exes can be friends, but they have to be REALLY disciplined about how they talk. They were once extremely close romantically, and depending for how long, it doesn’t make it easier if they’re still friends
