Yeah it sounds like pocd your mind is just trying to trick you by latching on to a sensitive situation because you find something like p*dos so distressing and wrong so it's trying to create chaos by trying to associate you with those things. It's really disturbing and tricky i've been struggling with it recently but unfortunately you just have to accept that those thoughts are going to be there. I know its hard but don't engage with these thoughts don't look for reassurance just let them pass by and eventually they will bother you less and less

@Anony1314 I dont believe you harmed your nephew from what you've described the grionals and thoughts are just symptoms of ocd. The reason they are there is because you probably deeply care about your nephew and harming him is something you would never do and therefore ocd puts these thoughts and sensations into your mind because it knows that this is a sensitive topic for you because you can't even comprehend hurting your nephew because you find it so disgusting. The fact your worried about it and desperate to know if you made a mistake or not shows that these thoughts and sensations go against who you are and that they aren't a reflection of your true intentions. Do your best to not focus on these thoughts and if you continue struggling I would recommend you get in touch with a therapist

You are not alone in your thoughts and OCD uses whatever means necessary to isolate you and make you feel like you are bad and alone and yet there are thousands of us getting treatment for these thoughts. And yes I am one of them. And my OCD accuses me once daily that I am a P. But im not. My therapist gave me something to help me and I will find it and post here.

Label the Intrusive Thought : “I’m having that thought again, I notice it but I am not going to engage with it." Practice URGE-SURFING: Let the urge happen and notice the urge to thought block - notice it rise and fall without engaging in it. DEFUSION PHRASE: "Thats just a thought and it doesn't define me." “There’s my brain trying to keep me safe.” “This is the part where I overthink again.”
