Did you contact your psychiatrist about these hard side effects? I remember that at the beggining it was the same with the intensity of thoughts and then it dropped after brain got used to it.

@Noname77 I had a similar reaction on Lexapro and decided it wasn’t the right med for me. You don’t need to suffer like that - there are too many other options for medication out there.

@Noname77 Honestly I had a similar reaction to it when starting out but toughed it out for like 4 months. I just switched over to Prozac and have had a much easier time getting onboarded.

@Noname77 It should calm down soon if not you should def think about either switching or stopping with that one for now, but most importantly talk with your psychiatrist about it. Maybe the symptoms might feel “too harsh” aswell because you are thinking about it, but for intrusive thoughts to be intense thats how brain reacts to every SSRI at the beggining as much as ik. Sometimes body doesnt react the way it should on SSRIs.

@Noname77 It wasn’t terrible for 4 months it was rough in the beginning. It got easier but it caused me too much emotional blunting at high doses. A little weight gain just because I’m more comfortable and appetite is returning back to normal. I lost like 20 lbs in the depths of my depressive episode so I needed the weight gain lol

@Noname77 Thank you. You’re in the thick of it but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep advocating for yourself and your body.

@Noname77 Yes, have heard that sertaline has the best effect on ocd, but also has the highest rate of side effects on hair that am scared of because of previous experiences. But everyone is different, for example i havent had nausea or heat flashes or i just walked the symptoms off back then 😂
