It’s ok hun. I know how you feel. It took me 7 years to go to a GP but taking that first step is you’re halfway there. A professional will guide you through treatment, and you will get better. I live with my parents and they know I see a psychologist although I chose to tell them I had OCD that’s it. They don’t know the content etc. as hard as it was to take that first step it was the best step.

Thank you so much, that’s exactly what I meant because a lot of my family are medicated and really relay on them and I never wanted that but sometimes it’s the best option, my New Years resolution is to get help and finally do something about it after all these years, thank you so much!:)

Thank you, i really appreciate that. It’s just the scary thought of being diagnosed and it then becoming even more real and it’s like I have to start all these years of suffer over again being told I really have it, because I’ve always talked myself out of it like ‘na you’re just being dramatic or weird or just worried’ but i know I’m not if that makes sense, but thank you!

No you’re not being dramatic or weird! ocd is a horrible thing to have but it doesn’t have to define you, and it’s worse to suffer alone. A good therapist who understands ocd will be invaluable to you.

I definitely know what you mean and you will get better. I think getting help and talking about it helps so much. I felt the same way about taking medication because my my mom and aunt are on medication but I finally came to terms that I needed help and the medication does help me. There’s no shame in taking pills. Some people really need it and taking that step is so brave. You can do it :)
