Medications
This is my first post! I was diagnosed with OCD about 5 months ago (thank god) and ADHD a couple of months ago. So definitely new to navigating all of this. I started on lexapro after my PCD diagnoses and adderall after the ADHD. I’ve also been in therapy for ~6 months. On the whole, I feel like a brand new person. In all the right ways. My thought rumination is way down and the lexapro + my work in therapy has started to help reduce some distress when triggered. Rather, I’m a little more able to redirect thoughts. BUT - My just-right and perfection compulsions have been amplified since introducing the adderall. The good seems to outweigh the bad, especially with work and socializing, but I’m becoming more hyperaware of these compulsions when I’m alone. Has anyone else had a similar experience on these two medications?
