Does anyone here get triggered by the evilness of the world that they see in the news or on Facebook, heck even scary movies or psychological shows?? I guess what I’m trying to say that the evilness of the world makes you question what humans are capable of..,what I’m capable of…and it makes me so anxious and scared.
Absolutely! Seeing anything violent makes me so paranoid and upset that I can’t sleep at night. I’ll think about it for days or weeks on end.

@blazed For context, I'm a conservative, but as a conservative man, I believe that everyone should be respected and kind to one another regardless of sexuality, gender identity, and race. I'm so tired and disgusted of both sides fighting each other. the homophobia and other phobic stuff I see from the Conservative party in my college, and the racism, sexism of some of the liberal parts of my college, just disgusts me all together. as someone with HOCD, I feel so alone because as someone whose associated with both parties, I'm scared of my OCD (in my case HOCD, POCD, and real events OCD) being misunderstood by both sides, hated upon because of my mental illness by both sides, and most importantly, not being what my intrusive thoughts say about me… I'm just tired of being alone… I just want people to love and be kind to one another. it shouldn't be hard to love one another, give each other hugs, telling people that you are not alone and that everyone cares about each other. the political climate has made everyone disgusted at each other, fighting internally over issues that at the end of the day, should be making the country better by finding common ground and siding with each other to make America a better and overall amazing place.
@Givenup I understand where you’re coming from! This world is an eerie place to live and I wish everyone can treat each other with respect and care too. Unfortunately, there’s always going to be people with beliefs like that wherever you go. Although, you can make a difference just by staying true to your values (like doing small acts of kindness for instance). But there’s only so much you can do, people won’t change unless they’re willing to do it themselves. Accepting that these things happen is a start. And as for your mental illness, I really feel you on that. It’s not easy being vulnerable because of the stigmatization. You don’t have to disclose your OCD to anyone though, it’s all up to you. Of course there’s people who are ignorant and uneducated, but there’s also people who will empathize and be compassionate towards you. It’s a dark place out there but finding like minded people who share the same beliefs will make you feel supported and more fulfilled in life. You got this, trust me
Omg I totally feel you, like the mass shooters or just people who kill their fam members makes me afraid and makes me question how a human being can do such a thing, and it also makes me afraid that if they did it, does that mean I’m capable of it??
I keep getting triggered by news stories related to my obsessive thoughts. I was feeling ok for a few days but now I'm spiralling again because of the news.
Does anyone else experience this? Every once in a while, I get this overwhelming feeling that is really hard to explain. It is like I *feel* evil, hateful, violent, and completely indifferent. It is such an ugly, uncomfortable feeling, but in that moment, I do not seem to care. I could be watching a video or doing something completely normal, and suddenly, I just feel dark and wrong. It does not exactly feel like a typical intrusive thought because it is not just a fleeting idea that pops into my head. It is more like a constant, vague presence in the background, almost like I have switched personalities or something. During these moments, I also get intrusive thoughts, but I do not immediately reject them the way I normally would. It is like I almost believe them, but there is this tiny part of me that still feels panic or a distant sense of wrongness about agreeing with them. It honestly scares me and makes me worry about what I might do. I do not know if I am explaining this well, but does anyone else experience something like this? I feel like I have never seen anyone talk about it.
does anyone else get really triggered when watching stuff to do with serial killers, p3dos, r@pists etc. I literally start to compare myself and check to see if i share any qualities with them. Ita really scary cause i really like this show Criminal minds, and i absolutely adore the characters, but its hard watching something i like cause of all the g0re and stuff. Not to mention all the thoughts that are convincing me i like the horrible stuff. Someone tell me if tou relate..
