SSRIS
What ssri has worked for you? And at what dose? Currently on Lexapro but I'm considering switching due to the side effects... I know that medications effect everyone differently, I'm just curious what else is out there! Thanks :)
Im on 80mg of prozac which is the highest prozac goes to. Its helped a lot with my outwardly reactions! I rarely get mad and have panic attacks caused by ocd now. It hasn’t helped much with the intrusive thoughts and the anxiety those cause but it has helped with some of my contamination ocd! Some people say they feel numb or like a robot on prozac but not for me:) i guess i just have so many emotions haha. The only side effect that ive experienced has been slight tremors in my muscles and hands. It also messes with pleasure when it comes to sexual activity. I had headaches and stomach aches the first week on taking it but other than that, its done so many good things for me

@Jessika Good to know. Ya a lot of people complain about ssris making them robot like but I actually feel normal lol. And I also thinks it's because I am so so sensitive and hyper emotional that it levels me out to a place of normalcy

I took celexa and Lexapro for 19 years, it worked pretty well, but after so long I built a tolerance to it now I'm being tapered off celexa and on to Prozac.
I am being tapered off lexapro after about 15 years and onto Prozac. Are you having any side effects with the tapering off of lexapro?
I’m taking Zoloft 150mg and it works great for me. I didn’t have any side effects and it helps reduce my anxiety quite a bit! Everyone’s body reacts differently though, so take this with a grain of salt :,)
Hi all. 35 years on and off meds. I’m on Effexor/Remeron combo, known as “California Rocket Fuel.” Has worked wonderfully for over 20 years. Did well on Prozac before but needed 120 mg to work correctly and any time I went to a new pharmacist they about keeled over because it was so high. Made the mistake in April this year to get off my “California Rocket Fuel” and ended up with huge break through panic attacks and intrusive OCD thoughts. Back on it but was not worth it to try and get off. Big mistake - so here I am. If you find a good med, by God stick with it!

Hi i am on luvox and it hasn’t given me much trouble. when i first started i was having minimal side effects but they went away. my psych recommended this one as the best for ocd
I’m on lexapro but have been having trouble getting off it. I’ve tried most and had to switch because of the side effects, so none really work for me personally.
I’m on Zoloft 50mg I’m only on the 6th week and they say to wait 8 weeks to feel the full affects. I don’t get anxiety attacks anymore which is good but I’m still thinking about my breathing which is annoying(I developed somatic ocd after an anxiety attack I had a couple months ago). Everyone is saying for ocd you have to have a higher dose which kind of scares me so I’ve been trying to make the 50mg work and hopefully erp therapy will help even more. I’m curious tho since I’m very low in weight(about 100 pounds) if I even need as high of a dose as most people? Not sure any of you would know this but

What has been your experience with Lexapro or Zoloft? My therapist mentioned how potentially taking one of these could be helpful but I’m hesitant on medications.
Okay, so I’ve always been reluctant to try meds, but I finally did and tried 50mg of fluvoxamine for 4 days. It made me 100x worse in a matter of 2 days. I was told to give it a month but I couldn’t. I literally was paralyzed with fear and I didn’t sleep those 4 days I took them. I also got this weird side effect where I see like a floater in the corner of my eye and it doesn’t go away. It started right after I stopped taking fluvoxamine cold turkey. Now, I was prescribed 25mg of Zoloft. I’m terrified to take it. But I feel like I need to start taking meds because my ocd is becoming so unbearable and I need some peace. Tell me your experiences. Did you feel like SSRIs really were a life saver? This might sound like I’m asking for reassurance, but I genuinely want to read some peoples experiences before I give it another go.
I have tried so so many medications (SSRI, etc.) for OCD treatment. The only one I have had success with is Lexapro, but it then caused a ton of side effects. I have tried Prozac, Zoloft, and now I am on Pristiq with not much success. Does anyone have a recommendation I could bring to my physician? They are also kind of at a loss with new medications for me to try.
