ERP exposure statements
Does anyone have tips on how to accept your anxious feelings/thoughts? For me I usually have anxious “feelings” and my mind links it to a thought. So I’m working on accepting my feelings/thoughts rather than being scared or trying to figure it out. I would say things like “who knows why I have this intrusive feeling, oh well, I’m not gonna figure it out today! I hope it stays!” I know that by saying “I hope it stays!” Or “see you again tomorrow anxiety!” In a more fun and joking way is a part of ERP. But is there any other statements any of you use when you have these feelings or Intrusive thoughts? Ex: “I love this anxious feeling! Who knows if I can handle this for the rest of my life, oh well!!” Any thoughts?
