Hi Cody 😊 I’m so sorry ur having a hard time today friend😢🙏 I totally understand about days like this when ocd is trying to get u stuck and u have already had a hard time the last few days struggling with trying to manage the obsessive thoughts then an argument with a family member too, that’s a lot all at once😢🤗 I know it can be hard but try to slow down and breathe and be extra compassionate with yourself, you are going thru so much🙏 💝also try to practice some tools like not engaging with the thoughts, I know it can be so hard and uncomfortable, but just do the best u can to sit with the uncertainty and say things like, “maybe, maybe not”, and / or “I don’t have to figure that out right now” and move on to what u were doing before the obsessive thought came. Also you can “walk away” from the thought by practicing mindfulness , fully being in the present moment focusing on a activity you enjoy, ie: go for a walk, listen to music, watch a show, anything to bring your attention to something else for at least 10-15 minutes , then see if the urge to do the compulsion gets weaker, even if the urge goes down a little that is a win and builds confidence 👍🏻Remember to take care of yourself, get sleep , eat healthy as possible and regularly, exercise if u can, also try to ground yourself using your 5 senses.( sight, smell, touch, hearing, taste) also remember you are not in this alone, so many people are struggling with the same things you are, recovery isn’t linear , it has its ups and downs, don’t give up , just keep moving forward , gently challenging yourself as you learn and practice erp skills and be really kind to yourself 🙏💝sending hugs to you 🤗🙏 and remember God knows your heart and He knows what you are going thru and He Loves you so much, ask Him to strengthen you and help you practice your erp skills, He is there with you🤗🙏💝He is walking with you on this road of recovery, you are doing great and you are brave!🤗🙏💝
