fluvoxamine

Hello all, i’ve been on fluvoxamine for just over 4 weeks and i was on 50mg for 2 weeks and now i’ve been on 100mg for over 2 weeks. My psychiatrist wants to get me up to 150mg but i’m a little nervous to go up higher. Is anyone else on 150mg? and how long have you been on to go up to 150mg? Also they told me i cannot drink alcohol at all. Has anyone drank alcohol on fluvoxamine? Do i just have to wait til my body is used to the meds? bc i’m still young and i feel like i’m missing out not being able to drink a little when i go out with my friends.

I think you should be asking the alcohol question to a medical professional instead of people on this app. Just because we say something works or doesn't work for our medications doesn't mean it'll apply to you. I'd go to an expert and see what they say

@girlanon I KNOW BUT IM STILL GONNA ASK. trust me. I’ve talked to doctors, psychiatrists, pharmacists and my therapist. But i am still curious.. like damn.. don’t comment if you not answering the question lmao

I’m on 150 morning and night and while I have to supplement it with other drugs it’s been very helpful. Also I still drink. It just amplifies the effects of alcohol so it lowers tolerance significantly

@BBunderwater so you take 300mg a day then? I’ve been nervous to go up bc for a week when i first started and when i went up, i felt very dissociated n depressed but my psychiatrist wants me up to 150

@swagmoney101 Yes and it wasn’t working crazy well until I started supplementing it with pindolol which is this weird high blood pressure medicine that makes it work a lot better. It’s not used often but if other things haven’t helped it can!

Dont drink on antidepressants. Bad combo. Trust me. You can have fun without alcohol.

@jhbishop80@gmail.com I know a lot of people that drink on antidepressants and I know i can have fun w/o alcohol. I’m coming on here to ask if OTHER ppl have. Not to be told not to drink on them

That's unrealistic, I drink on my buspar but the pharmacist told me that was okay.

@swagmoney101 - I just meant i think the psychiatrist has your best interest in mind. He or she wants you to be safe. Ive blacked out before while drinking on paxil and got in some trouble. If you just have one drink that may be fine. But i would definitely follow the doctors directions. Theyre just trying to help you.

@Anonymous2987 i haven’t noticed anything, however when i stand up i have to sit back down for a sec bc my vision goes black but i’ve always kinda been like that so it could be bc i haven’t checked my blood sugar since starting

Medication Questions

Hi all! I am on Zoloft 100mg and I was hoping to get some feedback! My biggest fear is being suicidal and sometimes I’m like checking to see if I am suicidal on the medication but then I think maybe it’s my ocd. My doctor wants to go higher but I’m wondering if this is a good idea based on my thoughts. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Luvox + Buspar

Has anyone else taken Luvox? How long did it take to work? I'm on day 26 or 27 and I am not feeling better. I almost feel like I've been worse. my psych says it takes time and I'm likely not worse, just need time for it to adjust but im scared. Ive been taking 75mg because we went from 25 to 50 to 100 and that seemed like too much so we went back to 75 and now we are going back to 100. We are also adding Buspar three times a day so hopefully that does something. Idk, I am trying to hold out but yesterday was so bad, I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital or inpatient care somewhere.

Starting new anxiety meds

Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭
