I currently COVID. I had started on Zoloft 2 weeks ago and it was working fine. In the last 2 days I realized that it is not working as good as it was before I got sick. I wonder if it’s because of COVID, has this happened to anyone else?
Noticing any difference at two weeks is great but I think it’s an exception. These kinds of medication will be in full effect in 2-3 months. And at first your symptoms can worsen, too. And then especially when sick, and maybe having a little more anxiety because of having covid… sounds like it’s normal that you don’t notice the effects that well rn, especially since the meds are probably not working like they should, yet.
It’s a build up so give it a while. I’ve been on for 12 years.
COVID should not interfere with your medication. Your treatment will also not work the same forever. Some days will be smooth, some days harder. That's true with or without medication. If you're very concerned, ask your doc too
In addition to what others have said, keep in mind that being ill can make OCD or anxiety symptoms worse. You're fighting a virus, so your system is being taxed and it's not uncommon for fight/flight to kick in. Also, covid is a virus that has multi-system impacts, so the inflammation it causes can make anxiety (and OCD, by extention) worse while the virus is active. This is likely temporary, so try to be patient and not do compulsions like ruminate over it. Get tons of rest and don't push yourself - I hope you'll get through covid soon 🩷
So I’ve been on Zoloft since ending of October and went on 100mg about 2 weeks ago. I really started feeling the affects and it has made me calmer but I still have a lot of intrusive thoughts and today my mood swings were off the charts which my ocd feeds off of and now my mind feels like it’s racing. It could be because I get on my period in a week but can this still happen while on medication or should I talk to my doctor about a new prescription? What’s the goal of medication if you could just share your story
I'm back, unfortunately! I'm trying to remain positive as I have been doing so good, but I have a question.....I have been taking 2 (100mg) Zoloft for a while now and it has helped tremendously, well unfortunately I started running low on them and my appointment to have them refilled is tomorrow, so I had started breaking them in half to get me by. Well, I am on day 3 or 4 of just taking a half instead of 2 whole ones and I am just curious if it's possible for my symptoms to start appearing again so soon? Considering I went from 2 a day to a half, anything feedback is welcomed!
I just started Sertraline 25mg and some days I feel fine, like I’m actually making progress and then all of a sudden I feel intense anxiety , and it makes my obsessions intense. I’m on day 12 of my medication. Does it get better ?
