OCD is the worst! It will make you question EVERYTHING. When I was beginning to conquer OCD by realizing that God gave me a good heart and that I was going to be fine, it begin to make me question why God chose that for me? Like what if I wanted to be evil and I canāt because God chose to make me a good person. Like what kind of irrational question is that? I donāt understand why Iām stuck on questioning that. Has anyone else experienced this?
I get this. I also always knew that God gave me a good heart to serve people and bring his love to them. Since ocd started I started to question myself and how I am able to be a good person when I am having these thoughts and feelings. The only thing that makes sense for me is that God wants us to give up the control to him - let him give us the strength that we need in order to love others. I am not able to love others as much as when I am doing it with the love that I reveive from God. Our only task is to allow him to fill us with his love and peace so that we are able to do good and love othersš«¶š»

He will bring the secret things of darkness to light and make known the intentions of the hearts, and then each one will receive his praise from God.ā-1 Cor 4:4-5 God examines our intentions. If he has to examine then he is not the cause of our intentions. If we receive praise from God it is because WE ourselves have chosen the right course, otherwise the praise would be fake. God is not faking.

Jessi, it's just another OCD thought, nothing more. OCD is trying to keep you on its treadmill by using this angle. The 'what ifs" are very, very common. The only way to deal with it effectively is to stay in uncertainty--"maybe it's true, maybe not, only God knows." Then go about your day. You may need to sit in discomfort for awhile, but that's okay. It will eventually pass, and it only makes you stronger. Do you have a trained OCD therapist?

@JessiJess Yes, it's tough, but it gets better. Just keep at it and don't get discouraged. Recovery is messy, not linear.

Does anyone think OCD makes it hard to be spiritual. Iāve slowly become a Christian over the years. And it really makes sense to me. It aligns with my personality, and beliefs Iāve had before I was even religious. The doubts I have arenāt rational doubts. Theyāre telling me Iām delusional, immature, and crazy. Theyāre thoughts targeted at me, basically that Iām being stupid. And since one of my fears is going crazy, Iām worried Iāve gone crazy and come to a spiritual conclusion because Iām insane. Itās frustrating because it makes kind me of unable to further my relationship with God. I also have existential OCD, and Iām afraid thatās why I believe in God. But my OCD makes me feel like if I donāt have all the answers that itās not ok, but I know I can never have all the answers.

Being reborn! Iāve seen the changes! It hurts to have these thoughts & feelings of doubt! Iāve been having this for 6 months. It started as a thought of āis God realā now itās like my mind has interrogated me over and over again making me question everything! Yelling accusations at me! Telling me I donāt ābelieve enoughā or āmaybe I donāt believeā or āI donāt love Himā and just stuff like that and I hate it! I want faith & belief and I refuse to give up! I try to remind myself this isnāt a Faith problem but an OCD problem but my OCD tries to make me doubt that! Anyone gone through this? Any advice?
