Has anyone made it through this and actually reclaimed the peace they had before going through this? The way I say the world has just completely changed and I don’t know how to find the willpower to keep going unless there is hope of getting that back. I will continue to keep trying anyway, but please tell me it gets easier.
it does get easier, but even without ocd you'll never be "yourself" again, because you always were and always will be yourself, the thing that changes is your experience through such a hard path that is ocd, i can tell you for sure.. you'll always be you :) you just got stronger

Yes! I haven't recovered, not even close. But I struggled really hard with harm ocd and then pocd and I thought I will never go back to how I was. The thoughts were so disturbing and disgusting that I thought I will remember them forever and never be the same. Which is completely false. I had three really good weeks where ocd didn't attack me and let me tell you life is great! I forgot about the content of my old intrusive thoughts, I didn't really get new ones, I felt like my old self and I felt happy. Now ocd is flaring up again which sucks but I know I can go back to enjoying my life again! It gets easier! I hope with ERP therapy and a lot of hard work J can get to a point where I don't experience these flare ups

They say even Jesus was tempted by the devil , look what they did to Jesus , look at the presidents going to war and committing mass murder , no Human is perfect , Dinosaurs were here before us , Sharks , look at the whole food chain , its destructive , Its up to you to change the way you think , stay away from drugs and alcohol . One thing that has helped me for peace and overcoming ocd is , organic vitamins everyday , our brains need nutrients to function , Vitamin b12 , distilled high quality fish oil , High quality water intake our brains are 70% water or something like that Working out promotes blood flow to the brain , meditate and sit with these thoughts and tell yourself i dont like these thoughts for a reason because they arnt me , listen to this , Rain - rob scallon Mutter -rob scallon Harpu - miqedem How much you love - allie paige Meditate and think , i hate these thoughts , im lost and im a good fuckin person , and thats what im going to continue to be , follow the laws and stay free my friend .
POCD has been the worst thing I've ever been through. I feel like I have always sort of experienced it but not to the degree I do now. I used to plan being a mother to a beautiful family. Now I don't know if I'll ever have children at the risk of having a girl. I used to have intrusive thoughts that would make me feel weird but I could just move on from them. That was until I had to babysit my niece and change her diaper. I want to throw up thinking about it. I got a horribly strong groinal response and I didn't know what to do. I didn't understand why it was happening. It bothered me all day that day and later on I did the disgusting deed of testing myself. I regret it everyday. It's a horrible compulsion and it haunts me. I tested if I was getting off to the thought of her. And of course there was stimulation because of the groinal response. But I hated doing it. I just felt like I had to be sure. After that and since then I haven't wanted to be around her. I stopped planning being a mother, I stopped watching cute baby videos like I used to enjoy because they trigger disgusting intrusive thoughts. After a while I stopped being intimate with my boyfriend and haven't done anything with for months because the thoughts take over and make me feel like I may enjoy the deed more if I was thinking of children. I worry that maybe I do enjoy these thoughts and I'm just denying it. I wish I could be sure. I feel so disgusting and ugly, I've never hated myself this much. It takes over most of my days. I wish I had never changed her diaper. Some times in moments of clarity I am so sure that I'm not a predator, but when I am vulnerable OCD sneaks back in and tells me I enjoy my thoughts and that I should think them. Sometimes it gets so overwhelming that I have to test. I wish I could stop. It ruins my entire week. I feel like a monster. I want to love my life again. I miss life before this. I feel so hopeless most of the time and I can't imagine a way out. I'm scared to start therapy because what if I found out I am a monster? I can't live like that. I won't. I want to cry and scream. Am I alone in this?
Those of you who have overcome at least a bit, if not all, of your OCD. When you went through the CBT and ERP, did it feel like the end of the world? And how did you face the fact that your fears and uncertainties might actually come to life?
I feel so sad, alone, scared and hopeless. Until two months ago there was not even the remote possibility of being anything other than heterosexual and now the idea that I could find out that I was lesbian or bisexual terrifies me to death. Everything was born from the fact that I didn't feel sexual desire towards my ex-boyfriend and I started to be afraid that it was because I was a lesbian... how can I be a lesbian or bisexual if everything was born from this? I would like to run away from myself and my head. I would really like to go back and go back to my life before. I can't take it anymore. I just want to live my life like before
