I’m having a pretty bad relapse on my ocd and I feel insane. It makes me think I’ll ruin my relationship or that I’m disappointing God. Sometimes with the repeated thoughts and nightmares for a week or two and then being fine next , does this insinuate bipolar???
I feel like I can relate to this and know so much of how you're feeling. And by that I want to tell you that, God knows you and He knows how you're feeling. I think the nightmares and stuff are coming just from the stress and worry that the thoughts have caused you. I don't think you have bipolar. I just think that maybe the emotions like worrying/stressing are changing and focusing on different things at different times. Like, for me. I have 1-2 weeks where my anxiety kinda starts to amp up a lot I've noticed and it even also caused me to think the exact same thing and fixate on whether if I was bipolar too.
oh i definitely relate to this. recently, mine was triggered really bad ): but i was slowly able to have a "idgaf" mindset and that was actually working but now it's back. sometimes my ocd will be gone for a long time but suddenly come back in huuuge waves and stay for long periods of time. ive also recently had nightmares abt mine, which is new. im not too well versed on bipolar disorder but i want u to know it's pretty common esp w ocd for it to come and go. i wish u the best 🌸
i’m not a doctor but have more friends with bipolar disorder than the average lol and to be the rational voice - you are not bipolar! it’s normal for your mental state to ebb & flow but being aware of it is honestly key to alleviating it! I get high levels of OCD and anxiety during the fall and i also become very religiously anxious the closer we get to holidays that celebrate Jesus because it reminds me how i’ve been slacking with going to Church which… i have a strong relationship with Christ I am just not a fan of the church options in my town as i prefer my hometowns church so I constantly start going then stop and feel so guilty

I’ve been doing really well the past few months. I’ve been consistent with ERP therapy and other exercises to help manage my OCD. However, something triggered my OCD to come back in full force last week and while I know that the journey to recovery isn’t linear, and I know that this is something I will always have to work on, it’s been very disheartening and it feels like all the progress I’ve made has been for nothing. It’s exhausting and I’m struggling with intrusive thoughts that I will never get better again. Anyone else relate?
It’s amazing how powerful OCD is, I went through the worst Mental Health experience of my entire life last year. I thought my life was over, that I was insane, and was convinced 100% I had schizophrenia. My brain was mimicking every symptom. It was terrifying. After starting OCD therapy and ERP. My life changed forever. I was actually mental stable for once. I felt happy and controlled for once. Now Schiz OCD is back , and it seems worse then before. I can’t sleep, eat, work, or even socialize. I constantly feel insane. My two biggest themes are Harm OCD and Schiz OCD. And these themes work together to cause me constant anxiety. It’s hell. I can’t even think straight. I’m currently dealing with DP/DR, command thoughts/voice, internal voices/thoughts that I can make not sound like me or my inner monologue, “What if” delusional thoughts,hyperviligance,checking if I hear or see anything externally(auditory and visual hallucinations) and many more. I question my insight constantly. I even went to the hospital the other day to get evaluated and make sure I don’t have psychosis. Everything I fear the most seems to be coming true. Constantly asking my parents and therapist/professionals if I have schizophrenia. Constantly looking for reassurance. Feels as if I’m thinking my way into psychosis and schizophrenia. OCD knows exactly what you fear and will try to one up you on anything. OCD will CONVINCE you everything that’s happening to you is true , all your biggest fears. OCD is trying to find new things to keep you stuck and hold you in fear. This experience has been horrible and I am convinced I’m going insane. But I’ve been through this once and I’m going to get through this again. STAY STRONG. Reach out to professionals, Resist compulsions, step into the fear, and relax a little bit. You’re not alone.
I've been dealing with an Relationship OCD relapse for a few weeks now and im currently distressed, overanalyzing my feelings towards my boyfriend, I feel the urge to break up with him at random times daily, for context I'm in a healthy happy relationship but this is causing me so much distress and anxiety. I fear I might loose control and break up with him.
