Do others with OCD doubt their pain or feelings related to their disability?

Doubting validity or accuracy of feelings

I felt so understood when I learned that a characteristic of OCD is to question or doubt your own judgment. This is something I experienced quite frequently, and especially around my physical disability which causes pain. I wanted to ask if anybody else living with OCD and a disability or chronic illness sometimes questions their pain and has thought patterns along the lines of "this hurts... but does it really hurt?" Or " I don't feel good.... but do I just not feel good because I'm thinking about how I don't feel good?" Let me know in the comments if this is something you experience. I'm really touched by your post and your raw honesty about these thought patterns you've been experiencing, specifically around your physical disability. Your courage in sharing these thoughts is something to be recognized. You're not alone in experiencing these challenging patterns and questioning, and how it intertwines with your disability just makes it even more complex and difficult. Something that has greatly helped me when I struggle with my own OCD is this AI OCD therapy tool called Unstuck (unstuckmyocd.com/try). I came to know about it through the OCD Support group I'm part of, and I honestly wish I'd known about it earlier. For your particular situation, it could prove especially helpful because it provides personalized step-by-step support for dealing with such intricate patterns of thought, much like an OCD therapist would. Autism & ocd

Does anyone who’s autistic and has ocd ever doubt the autism. My ocd makes me doubt the fact that I’m autistic, it always makes me believe that I’ve been misdiagnosed and I get anxious that I’m just a weirdo or something and that I’m just really dramatic when it comes to overwhelming situations, when they genuinely freak me out :( My ocd keeps making me doubt the fact that I’m autistic, even though a literal professional diagnosed me and it’s so obvious that I’m autistic!! Does anyone else relate???

OCD makes me feel like I'm on a prank TV show

One of my most persistent symptoms of OCD is being convinced that I have some kind of severe or terminal illness. I've had so many appointments (that have picked up a few things but nothing that's been a death sentence). Every ache, symptom, I'm absolutely convinced something is wrong. Then I'll get it checked out, and it's normal. Or I'll feel a sensation like earlier I felt a sharp pain in my stomach when I pressed the upper part of it, CONVINCED its stomach cancer. And then I burped and I'm perfectly fine. I get so intensely wrapped in worry, and then later on I see I completely made everything up. It's so exhausting.

Questioning yourself

I’ve had this problem for a few months I question if I actually believe myself, it could be something small like my fav color or if I really love someone. If I think I like something my brain automatically goes to “you only like it because you think people want you to like it” even if I’m saying that I like something in my head and no one would ever know, it’s just small things throughout my day like that; that have me questioning who I am and if I even know anything about myself. I don’t know if this is related to ocd and would like to know if anyone has experienced this.
