the first step to rumination is addressing your fear and why you feel the need to go back. this self awareness helps us find steps to combat the fear showing us it is not as scary as we believe and we can handle it. this long process eventually lightens ruminating.
@ah727 That’s what I have to learn to do
Hello there, I can truly feel for what you're going through, as dealing with OCD, notably existential rumination, can be particularly challenging. You're not alone, and I applaud your courage in reaching out and seeking advice. 😊There's this AI OCD therapy tool called "unstuck" (unstuckmyocd.com/try) that I heard about from my OCD support group and I wish I'd discovered earlier. It can be a massive help, especially with stopping rumination because the AI offers personalized, step-by-step support—somewhat like an OCD therapist would. Remember, I'm here if you have any questions about the app or just want to chat more. Stay strong! 💪🏻
@BiancaSawyer13 Thank you I’ll look into it
How to stop rumination? I have existential OCD, a type of purely obsessive OCD, and rumination feels automatic. Has anyone tried meditation? Did it help? What did you do?
Any tips on how to not ruminate?
Does anyone have any tips on stopping ruminating? I'm doing exposure therapy and struggling to break the cycle of rumination.
