Why do I get so so many sexual thoughts all the time About things I don’t wanna be thinking about Is this part of ocd and does anyone else have this Is this hyper sexual or just ocd because I don’t want these thoughts in my head
Hey Amber, First thing you gotta remember is that we as humans have NO CONTROL over what pops into our mind! Most of our thoughts are automatic, they just pop into our head! The fact is that OCD latches onto things you care about and it will target things that you care about. OCD can latch onto anything it wants to, if it tends to bother you or cause you distress to think about, then most definitely OCD will pick up on that. From what you have said, it seems very much like it just your OCD playing tricks on you. You just have to allow the unwanted thoughts and feelings to be there. Everyone has unwanted thoughts! The only difference is that people without OCD do not give their thoughts meaning and power! For example, a completely straight man (who does NOT suffer from OCD) could have a thought about having sex with a man, and this thought would pop into his head, he would think “what a strange thought” and then that’s it. He thinks nothing of it, he does not interact with it, he does not try to disagree with the thought, he just accepts the fact that this random thought appeared in his mind and that it DOES NOT mean anything!

@ambermayx Yeah, honestly, do not beat yourself up about it! Even I still feel disturbed by my unwanted thoughts and feelings but the tools you learn in ERP really help you be able to keep OCD as background noise! It has made me feel like a terrible person in the past as well, but remember, OCD is called ‘The Doubting Disorder” for a reason, it makes us doubt everything! You will be all good Amber 😎🫶🏾👊🏻

Also, the more you try to resist against your unwanted thoughts, the more strong they become and the more frequent. It’s honestly strange I know, but you have probably heard of the experiment where there is a room of 100 people (some with OCD and some without OCD), and they say you can think about anything you like except for a “pink elephant”. Guess what, the fact that they were told not to think of it, made all 100 people think of it the whole time. It is literally impossible to stop thoughts from coming into our mind and it’s impossible to get rid of them! The best thing we can do is: 1. Recognise the thought when it appears. 2. Accept the presence of the thought/feeling. 3. Let it sit there and go away on its own accord! It sounds frightening and honestly, I have been in your shoes and it was really difficult to take this step, but it is honestly the best step I have ever took and now I am living a life free from OCD’s grip!

@ambermayx Honestly ERP is the best thing I ever did in my life, even though I was shit scared about doing it 😂 it was honestly the best choice man! I hope you go and find a therapist that’s best for you 💪🫶🏾 Honestly, I would recommend going through NOCD. If you are from America, I think you can get it through some insurance but I am not totally sure. As I am from London, I had to pay for my sessions as insurance didn’t cover it over in America, but honestly, investing in yourself is the best thing you can do 😎💪👊🏻

So I’ve SOOCD since I was in 8 th grade and it got really bad when I had an intrusive thought as to what if I was bi. And ever since then I’ve had self destructive behavior to where I would think the thoughts on purpose or about women and checking them out and flirting with them. ( I identify as straight) and over time these thoughts and self destructive behavior hasn’t bothered me and now they feel apart of me I know apart of it is ocd but also it’s me like me willingly looking at women and me wanting to have sexual thoughts or feel aroused and in reality if I never had ocd I would never think this way I could live without women and never sleeping with them I do have a bf and I love him and am attracted to him rn thought bc of what happened last night with a women it’s hard to feel that can anyone relate?
So with my theme of ocd, ( hocd ) I get persistent intrusive images, and thoughts. It’s not like one or two a day. Like if I’m out for the whole day they’re constant. I feel I can’t even look at a girl now without her intrusive thoughts about her or about me fancying her and even sexual intrusive thoughts.. It’s awful. It’s everywhere I look. Is this common with ocd with any themes? Like is it constant for you guys too?
Last night I was self pleasuring. I didn’t set out to think about anything weird but as I was doing it some pocd thoughts were in my brain. I did not get off to them, but I could have. Idk why that is but it is. Idk what to do and idk why I am this way. Is there some science about the brain while aroused or is it possible that the more gross or taboo something is I can like it?? Idk, just want to know if anyone can relate.
