i’m so scared im going to lose control and end up locked up or something. this is so exhausting!! i worry that what i have isn’t OCD and that im genuinely insane and im gonna end up in big trouble or that the urges i have are going to actually happen. i dont want to think these things ! i feel like a horrible human being!!
You aren’t alone! I felt a similar way. I had thoughts of losing control too and then ending it all, or that something really bad was going to happen. You might think “This is it.” But it ends up being “It” over and over again so you know it’s not real. Sorry if this didn’t help. You aren’t a horrible human being 🤍 I promise
What kind of treatment are you receiving? I had the same feelings when I was diagnosed and I spent so many hours obsessing over whether I “really had OCD” and trying to poke holes in my diagnosis. If you are struggling with Harm OCD, you may find “Overcoming Harm OCD” by Jon Hershfield helpful. He writes in a very reassuring way as an OCD sufferer himself
@CobraMan i current and not in any therapy. i downloaded this in hopes to get help but my insurance is taking forever to get back about coverage 😞

Hello, OCD will cause people to think terrible things that they would never actually want to do. Have you considered meeting with an ERP trained therapist to help assess for OCD?
It does sound like a little OCD but you should reach out to NOCD to get a handle on it. Let the thoughts be there, don't try to fight them. The thoughts don't mean anything. There are also lots of good tips on the Patrick McGrath Wednesday night webinar on the NOCD page on YouTube. Or really any NOCD webinar can be helpful. Go ahead and check out some of the videos. Olivia, big virtual hug to you. Your post here could have been a page out of my diary from a few years ago. I know how scary it is to feel like you might lose control or that maybe you don't actually have OCD and maybe it's something different or worse. I want to let you know that these feelings with OCD are normal. OCD is nicknamed "the doubt disorder" for a reason. It will have you doubting anything and everything, including if you even have OCD. Have you met with an OCD therapist yet? This helped me a ton. OCD therapists understand this stuff really well. They know that intrusive thoughts are not a reflection of anything you actually want to do (even if OCD may have you doubting otherwise). They talk to people who feel like this every day and help them find relief. I am one of them! There IS a way out from this terrifying place. I'm so sorry you are struggling with this. I feel like im loosing my mind. I feel like i experience derealization or what. I feel confused like very very confused. I cant even think normally. Im just tired. I feel like im loosing myself. Im scared that everyone tells me that i have OCD, but what if this is all true? I dont think and im scared that other so-ocd sufferers dont feel this way as i do. I feel literally, LITERALLY so convinced that this must be true. It feels like i already accepted that this is true. Im done. My brain is broken. I even started to have thoughts like what if i have schizophrenia or dissociative identity disorder. Help me please. Do i have psychosis or what?
Someone had told me that my religious ocd/harm ocd intrusive thoughts, could be caused by paranoia or schizophrenia, and now I can’t stop thinking that I’m losing my mind and that I’m crazy… my religious ocd sometimes says “God wants you to harm someone.” Or “God is the almighty and can control you and make you do these terrible things” even though I know deep down that’s completely absurd.. it even says it in the 10 commandments.. I’m so lost.. I hope I’m not actually crazy.. I don’t want to hurt anyone..
Guys it feels so real and im really scared because it feels like i dont care about the thoughts and it feels like im going to do something terrible, its horrific. I am so scared i keep getting urges and images i dont know what to do because i get a whole rush of panic. I think what’s triggered it was my for you page on tiktok, on the Mendez brothers murder cases and The prada guy and im so scared but it feels like im not worried like abt the thoughts or feeling but i am scared pls reply its literally plaguing me in my head idk what to do bc it feels like im gonna do it
