I can't stop posting confessions and stuff online.

What if you consciously stopped and allowed urself to be anxious and uncomfortable when you notice the urge to do that?

I ask myself what would I be doing with my life in this moment if I didn’t have this thought or urge to confess whatever I feel the need to confess. For me, I’d be finding the relationships I want by meeting others and being productive with my time by doing things to find a job/career as well as enjoying the activities and hobbies I have. The fear that something is bad or inadequate about me is unrealistic but is there nonetheless and pulls my attention away from the things I listed so I have also confessed things to people in person as well as online which forces me confront their opinion of me and realize that they’re opinion isn’t as bad as i thought. The issue with me was giving in to the fear so compulsively that I would confess things at times that weren’t always appropriate. I’m now allowing myself to get to know people first and then deciding sometime later on whether it’s even worth revealing certain things about myself to them. I also take a step back from my compulsive need to confess and view it as something not too serious anymore and something separate from me. There definitely was and still is sometimes that need to confess feels very strong but it does fade with time and dedication.

Since you’re in a spiral and doing compulsions, I would at least try to delay confessing as much as possible. Delay making a post until a set time (eg. 21), then have a concrete plan, when you have a strong urge to post (eg. I will go for a walk, no matter how I feel). Just delaying a compulsion is really helpful.

How about this? Write out what it is that's bothering you, which you have already done here. But do the completely opposite of what it's telling you. In this case, you feel you need to make another reddit account to confess to everything you're obsessing over. Do you think this is going to help in the long run? Will it make things better long term? Short term it may, but what about long term? What if you just don't make the account and take like, 10 minutes to just not give into the compulsion? The more you keep doing this, the better things will get for you. The less you give into compulsions and try and do something about them, the easier it will be to deal with these things.
