Nocd has hundreds of videos you can watch for free
this might be stupid but where are they? i cant acess it from the app?
@toe beans They are all on YouTube! They are a great resource! They have ones made by therapists and ones made by people who have ocd and have been approved by therapists to help people
I know you said you can’t afford therapy, but if you can maybe save up some money to buy Kimberley Quinlan’s ERP school it’s about $197. She walks you through OCD & ERP in a series of pre-recorded videos where she goes over the same tools she teaches her clients and every so often will also answer your specific questions. Otherwise, The Mindfulness Workbook for OCD by Jon Hershfield. And there are tons of free videos online as well! Good luck :)
thank you!!!!!!

There's a web platform called OCD Challenge. Its run by an OCD therapist and walks you through how to set up a hierarchy and do ERP. Its FREE. All you need is an internet connection. Also, check out the NOCD podcast OCD Stories. Also Jenna Overbaugh's podcast All the Hard Things has been really helpful. She has OCD and is a NOCD therapist. Another good resource is Dare to Challenge OCD by Dr. Joan Davidson. Also OCD Travel Guide by Michael Parker.
I think it’s going to be a while before I can get professional help. Does anyone have any advice for things I can read or listen to or whatever? I feel so defeated and numb. I feel just stuck. I don’t have a job or anything and don’t know how to drive yet. Life happened and covid didn’t help, we moved a couple times in the middle of covid, so I’ve just been behind on things. My mom was going to help me with therapy but I don’t think that can happen right now. And that’s ok, I’m lucky she even offered to help. I shouldn’t have put that burden on her to feel like she needed to help me. I want to get a job and eventually pay for help myself, it’s my own problems anyway I don’t want my mom doing that for me. But since I can’t do that right now I have too much time to just sit in my head all day. I just want to try to make some sort of effort until I’m able to get all of that figured out.
I just want to know people who have recovered from OCD without therapist and using self help books and online resources
Hello everyone I've been suffering with OCD since quarantine; so about 5-ish years. Im now in my first year in college and to be honest I have nothing. No insurance, no job, and no car. Recently ive been going through POCD and its really messing me up a lot. Im scared, worried, and confused because its the opposite of what I visualize myself and my future, which is having a nice house and a family. I recently found out about the NOCD app and I still learning about it. I obviously can't afford therapy at all but I heard that with insurance can cover most of it or even all of the cost of therapy. When I look into it, it turns out theres many insurance providers and I have no clue if there's any that covers therapy or even how to apply for it. So please, can anybody recommend any good insurance providers that can cover therapy?
