I'm scared to eat

I'm so so hungry but my house is disgusting. My mom cooks our food but the problem is she takes her phone in the restroom with her and every time she cooks she facetime my sister. the other day I watched her wipe the floor with a tissue, leave the bathroom, and come into the dining area to check the time on her phone, which means she touched it because she was in a rush. I hardly eat as is and I don't want to feel disgusting, what should I do?

Did you speak "nicely" to your mom to address this issue, and I emphasize nicely? Remember, the primary reason for cooking food is to eliminate any contamination. In the meantime, find something else to eat until you resolve this, or even offer to cook yourself. Just don't starve yourself.

I'm sorry! I have similar concerns with my mother contaminating things. Please take my advice with a grain of salt. I think I would recommend ERP therapy, but it's important that you continue to eat right now. Some foods might feel less contaminated than others, and if you need to, you could eat those. Do you think you could find something that you can get for yourself to eat? Getting something for yourself might be easier than having your mother cook it for you. But what do you think?

If you hate yourself for eating then it is not your mom's issue, it is your issue. Don't hate yourself, love her and embrace her, she needs you, she has nobody but you to take care of her. Who will feed her if you don't?

Can't eat cos Contamination OCD says that nothing has been cooked correctly and I end up burning everything I cook. Fml I'm hungry, sorry I'm just done with this illness. I don't want to get sick by eating something but screw it, I haven't eaten in two days you know? Rant over, take care guys :)

Keep fearing that all the food at the house in which I babysit is poisoned. Sometimes I work up to 9 hours here without eating. Today I forgot to bring food with me, so I really forced myself to eat some of their snacks now I’m anxiously awaiting some kind of doom. How can I help this?

I’ve struggled with disorderly eating in the past (I.e. avoiding meals, feeling guilty about eating, becoming very thin, etc). Luckily I was able to get it under control, and I’m okay now. It’s hot, and my family are in bad moods because of the heat. I had my lunch at 12, and it’s like quarter to 6 as I write this. I’ve not snacked, and I literally had a piece of toast for my lunch, and no breakfast. I asked my family when they were going to make dinner, and my mum scowled at me and was like, ‘how are you hungry?’… I was shocked and said that I’ve literally only ate a piece of toast, and I said that was nearly 6 hours ago, and she just looks at me and goes, ‘Why does everything have to be on a timeline with you?’ I don’t ever talk about ‘times’, so she’s clearly just trying to find something to justify why she’s so angry for no reason. Anyway, I know this is irrational but I can feel some of my old thoughts and feelings sneaking in…, like, ‘maybe you shouldn’t be hungry’, ‘maybe you’ve gained weight, that’s why she’s saying that’, etc. I don’t know… can someone give me some advice?
