Does any anybody worry about being gay. I have been a straight man all my life and I’ve never participated in homosexual activities or anything in that nature. But I get intrusive thoughts like ur gay, u have to come out to ur parents, na d shot like that. But Ik I’m not gay. I’m just wondering if anyone has had this.
Hi there - I have POCD. Like all OCD, we have to sit with the discomfort and the thoughts. Maybe you are gay, maybe you’re not. Try to go about your day the best you can and let the thoughts be there.
Hell yeah. Dealing with it again and it is absolute hell cant look at guys because it feels wrong. I am straight, I love woman but my ocd really trips me over. Makes me check everything to make sure nothing is their. It messes with my past, present and future. You are not alone in this battle.
I have been fighting the rumination and the compulsions all day today tho and man is it tiring.
I worry about if I’m gay also. I genuinely don’t know my sexual identity so I’m unlabelled rn. I’m coming to terms with the fact that anything is a possibility, but I will be okay if I end up realizing I’m gay.
I think this is the best way to approach it. Ultimately that's what I'm aiming for (if feeling certain doesn't get to be an option!). I think the need to label things puts so much more pressure on us SO OCD sufferers. Better to cast them off!
Right there with ya man. You are not alone. Been a straight guy my Entire life never had problems with with HOCD for 29 years of my life until a weed induced thought hit me and I couldn’t let the intrusive thought leave my mind. Then the hell cycle of the disorder started. I have been dealing with it for about 5 years. I take meds SSRI/ SSNRI for the anxiety. It consumes my mind some part some the day some not at all but as of late it’s been very stressful and thoughts, more of less the Hocd Is in the back of my mind that gives me difficulty and anxiety. I just started NOCD this week tomorrow I have my second session. Hoping that the therapy and ERP will ease my mind and manage it the best I can. Don’t feel alone I was in sheer panic when it first struck. My mind is at least at ease to know I’m not alone and have been officially diagnosed with OCD.
can someone with this theme help me i’m so scared and i can’t stop having panic attacks is this OCD??? So i always have struggled most with sucicidal ocd and harm ocd. i never really had any other themes. but recently ive struggled with SOOCD. My whole life i have never EVER been into girls ever and i could never even think of ever being with a girl in my entire life. i’m having extreme amounts of anxiety and i have compulsions to make sure i look at a girl and don’t feel anything towards them or anything. My mind is literally going “what if your just in denial” or “what if you’ve just been hiding it all these years” When i know i haven’t. i have all of the symptoms of SOOCD and i still know that im not gay,but these thoughts are extremely distressing and have been the worse to deal with. I’m constantly panicking and doing compulsions to get these thoughts to leave and they won’t. i’m scared and these thoughts are making my mind scared. What if i’m going against my morals and i’m lying to myself like and i just went through a tough breakup too so that is shooting these thoughts and anxiety. Please help omg!!!
Im a 21 year old female in a straight relationship with the best guy a girl could ever ask for. About 2 months ago, I went to get coffee with a friend and as I dropped her off, I got a “weird” vibe from her and the look she gave me which lead to the thought of “should I kiss her”….Ive never had a thought like that before and I never have ever wanted to kiss another girl. I have also never had a desire to be with another girl (sexually or romantically). Now though, I have had one other experience of being with a different friend going to get lunch and it felt weird. Ever since then I have been on google non stop with hundreds of different searches, questioning if im lying to myself of my boyfriend, wondering about my past relationships even though Ive only dated boys, been attracted to boys, crushed on boys, etc… boy crazy! Reading on other forums has been a big thing too or doing quizzes. I believe its SO-OCD but im so scared that what if its not. I am in therapy and actually had two weeks of not even thinking about it or googling it until yesterday. I dont know what to do.
Sorry long post. Anyone feel like now they’re just in extreme denial. Like when I was little I noticed guys more than girls in movies and was more drawn to them. I remember changing my mindset to switch that. 98%of my life has been straight until recently. I felt drawn to some guys but never thought of it sexually. Always had girl crushes dreams and porn. Now I watch porn and I feel like straight takes longer and then I go and watch gay porn and feel nothing until I tell myself it’s two attractive dudes and love is love and imagine physical sensations and then it hits like suddenly. Like I have to convince myself it’s alright. Then when I try again I can do all that but feel nothing and then straight porn works. Idk if it’s just getting a fix or the first time works with anything or what but it’s confusing. On top of that I’ve felt girl relationships including my wife maybe miss something and a guy maybe matches that feeling that but then I feel like I’d be missing something without a girl or my wife. Idk I’ve had some rough times in life with male figures in my life but idk. I feel like I have to convince myself more and more that I’m straight even more than the first time I dealt with this. Can someone relate? Please
