Food OCD? Worried about people’s skin/hair cells
Hey again! I just would like to discuss some thoughts and see if anyone is in the same boat or has any advice. I tend to struggle with food sometimes, especially when my OCD gets bad. It can be hard to eat. 1am not worried about getting sick from food, but I think about much germs are on it. For example, I sometimes struggle with eating out. I think about skin cells/hair cells/ whatever else coming off a person and onto my food when they cook it. Everyone sheds skin, sometimes you don't see or realize it. And it really stresses and grosses me out to the point of not being able to eat sometimes. It got to a point where I didn't even trust any store bought food and I would have to check every detail of it. Most store bought food goes near humans when it's all open and allow the air particles to get on it. Meat is a huge struggle for me. If I go out to eat, I will usually never get anything with meat. Just the thought of it and sometimes the texture and flavor really get to me. I have gagged eating many times just thinking about the situation. Of eating someone's skin or hair cells. I am not worried about getting sick. Does anyone else experience this? How have you helped it? I get low blood sugar and can't go without eating for long periods of time so I really need to get this figured out!
