Out of curiosity what causes a intrusive thought
To stick? Like one that creates loops and lasts potentially weeks and months? I never got a clear answer

The only answer I can think of is that, when you start identifying with the thought, which you think is not aligned with your values and then start getting distressed by it, the thought will stick to you, as your brain thinks, you love to engage with this thought. The engagement you are doing here is denying the thought or trying to neautralize it.
When you react negatively to an intrusive thought, image, or urge.
I have intrusive thoughts (no anxiety ) but not too much thoughts but very disturbing like it's stay almost 3 hours straight just down and up (not done compulsion ) feel very disturbed and i don't know what to do. Just feel irritating thoughts (harm thoughts and going to crazy ) If i have any other issue not ocd?
Please how can an intrusive thought be distinguished from our own thoughts ?
does anyone else constantly suffer from intrusive thoughts? it makes my head ache & i can barely think straight.
