struggling
i don't know if I can continue my college. I have undiagnosed ocd and i haven't talked with a psychiatrist yet. My course is very hard, it requires a lot of attention and i cannot give that. I feel like crying, we had our 1st quiz today and I failed. I failed as a student and as a daughter...
Hold up. I know it’s hard. I’m in college too and when I first started my course, my OCD would take me up to 5-6 hours a day. I am also studying difficult subjects and assignments would pile up on me. Now thank God, after receiving therapy, I can live an easier life without. Failing exams is normal. We all fail at first. Now you know where your weak points are. It’s only the first quiz aswell. There must be plenty more opportunities to do better. It’s not your fault. There’s things that you can do that are better than others. Please consult your family. You need help getting through the OCD. We all needed it. After that use their support (or you can do it independently) and consult a psychiatrist who can assess you and help you get referred for psychotherapy. Wish you all the best
Totally get it is hard. Don’t see yourself as a failure you are undertaking a tough task. Before you make the big jump of stopping your education try just a little bit more. Your college psychology department might offer mental health services with students in master/phd programs getting hours to get licensed. Look and see if you can find the help you need with that. Additionally don’t be afraid of office hours with the professor you can find a lot of help and the one on one communication can help you zone out your ocd a bit more.
Just went to college today and it was horrible. I kept getting thoughts about killing people. It hurts so much. I’m home crying idk why. I’m sobbing. I’m jealous I can’t be like the other people enjoying they’re college lives. I wanna be happy again. I wanna die so badly but I don’t wanna leave my mom and dad or anyone I’m scared I’m a serial killer. I can’t even enjoy college. I feel like I enjoy these thoughts. I read about other people saying how they still recover yet from Harm ocd and it’s giving me even more anxiety. I wanna go to a concert of my favorite singer and I’m crazy to go there. But I can’t because I’m a murderer. And I deserve to be in jail. Idk what to do please help me. I don’t wanna leave my mom. I can’t breathe and I can’t manage to fail my classes either. It’s so hard.
How does one do school and also have OCD? I used to be alright at school, now I can barely get anything done. I really don’t want to fail but every time I start working I get overwhelmed and my head hurts.
Please help! I am a medical student and I failed exam because of OCD. whole day passes by without even touching the course books. I can't focus on studies because of intrusive thoughts. No therapist is available in India. All psychologists advise me to meditate but I can't meditate with all the trouble going on with my mind. Please help!
