I still have symptoms, but I would say it’s not as active. I focus on being present instead of mentally reviewing the past (my compulsion) I used to confess to events from the past and to semi false memories. I just remind myself maybe or maybe not to whatever my fear is. So if I worry about being a good person I say maybe I am or maybe I’m not and I let myself feel my uncomfortable feelings. They pass when they want to pass and trying to control them can make OCD worse.
We all can learn to manage any of the OCD subtypes because not matter what topic we are struggling with OCD obsessions , all are the same the only difference is what a person obsesses about. My tips are : getting knowledge about our diagnosis, learning and practicing ERP techniques, and remind myself I am obsessing about a unrealistic fears. I use this acronym F ear : F alse E evidence A that appears R eal
Hi all, I deal with HOCD and been seeing a therapist for about 3.5 months. It has definitely got better but still affects me very much. Was wondering there is anyone out there who has dealt with HOCD as well and has recovered. I would love to message or even chat just see how your experience was and hear what was beneficial to you.
Hi guys. Hope everyone is okay I just wanted to ask for some ppl to share how they overcame harm ocd completely so that I can get an idea of how to work towards healing. Thank you :)
Does anyone have any tips that helped them? Mine is due to a specific person and I work with them so it’s been really difficult. I’ve started ERP which has been reaaalllllly challenging and I would love to hear from anyone else that has gone through any type of contamination ocd and how they have overcome or are fighting their way through it. Thank you!l
