Today my anxiety is really high. I suffer from hit and run OCD and harm OCD. I started my first session today I’m excited to work on getting better I have been feeling alone for quite some time Is anyone out there from Philadelphia or near Philadelphia?
I am not, but I do have a harm ocd , stay strong and  overcome your OCD .

@Steph2.0 I have Pure ocd, self harm and harm to others ocd and  and religious OCD.

@Anonymous I’m from Hilliard Ohio that’s towards Columbus. I went to Pennsylvania one time is really peaceful nicer. I think there’s more people with pure OCD then people realize people just aren’t comfortable sharing because they’re afraid people will think they’re a psychopath. I, I’ve only told a couple of my close family. I usually only talk about it on here where I am anonymous.  A found out I had OCD by going to a psych hospital. Were they treated me like a psychopath and it was the worst night of my life it was a really horrible week so I don’t tell a lot of people cause I never want to feel like that again.
@Brooke cookie I’m sorry you went through that. It’s hard because you can only share this with someone who you really trust. There is fear that people will look at us like we are crazy. I only tell those I trust that have empathy and compassion

@Steph2.0 I just got into therapy a few months back. Starting ERP. It's very hard when you have this OCD, because sometimes the anxiety is so severe that it's difficult to even step outside of home. How do you cope?

@UG My Faith keeps me grounded I talk to my family and friends although they don’t fully understand what I am going through they often sympathize.
@UG It is extremely hard and lonely to have this type of disorder I just started therapy here so I hope that helps along with medication and I just bought the book that NOCD recommended to me and I started the first chapter yesterday and it has been helping me today actually a lot There was something that stuck out to me in the book and it said that nothing is certain there’s no guarantee of certainty Even non-OCD suffers don’t have a guarantee of certainty. They just have a feeling of certainty. No one is in control of anything and doing one more compulsion. Isnt it going to keep anything bad from happening so I’ve been trying to keep that in mind So I’ve been going cold turkey to trying not to do as many compulsions as possible
@Steph2.0 Do you avoid driving because of this type of OCD?

I wish pure OCD was more publicly known because there’s a lot of people who are suffering from it and don’t even know what it is, which is really terrible
I’ve recently been struggling a lot with OCD. I have had OCD for a long time I just didn’t realize it until more recently. About seven months ago I developed panic attacks one day randomly at work. I thought I was having a heart attack and went to the hospital where they told me it was just a panic attack and I assumed I would snap out and be better within a few days. However it didn’t. Here’s where it gets scary, I was staying at my then boyfriends house while dealing with blurry vision, anxiety attacks everyday, and more (unsure of what was going on). But at some point I saw my bfs (pew pew 🔫) on his table and it sent me into an anxiety attack after sudden thoughts that I was going to hurt myself with it. I begged him to put it away when I’m not looking so I didn’t know where he put it. He did. These thoughts lasted for about four days but began to go away. (I thought that was it and I would be back to normal). Unfortunately though I ended up moving back in with my family when we couldn’t get my panic attacks under control in time for me to get back to work and pay bills. However, coming home brought up a lot of trauma from when I was kid. My anxiety got worse but I didn’t have those thoughts again. About two and half months ago though, I got sick and went to the hospital where they gave me steroid pills and a steroid shot but sent me into some kind of psychiatric event. Ever since then though, I have been suffering from harm OCD, I have had moments of intense anger that I usually have to completely walk away and go on my own because of how intense they are, and it feels like it’s getting worse. Today I felt fine until about and hour and half ago where I started to dwell on the fact that my suicidal thought was influenced by my OCD and at the moment my OCD is at the worst it’s been. This caused me to get suddenly really depressed and I started crying thinking about how I can’t handle this. I then saw a post talking about how suicide rates are high for people with this form of OCD and it made me question if I am mentally strong enough to pull through this. I fear that at times I’m getting worse. I have good days but I have a lot of bad days. Unfortunately this sent me into such a bad panic attack I went over to my nanas crying about how I can’t deal with this. I took a 0.25 mg Xanax which helped calm down the panic attack portion of it but my brain is still uncomfortably active. I guess I just need hope. I’m so saddened by this. It’s like my life took a total 360 in 10 months and got even worse since the steroid shot. Idk what to do about it. I can’t stop the spiral. I talk to two different therapist weekly and start more next week, making it 5 times a week. I feel no improvements…
(21+ ONLY: TRIGGER WARNING) I have therapy today and I’m nervous. I just started going to therapy and I really like my therapist. She talked to me about doing ERP and I’m really nervous about it. I’m scared to tell her the extent of my OCD, and my themes. I’m scared to tell her about my false memory OCD, because I’m scared that what I did was real and I’m just excusing it as false memory, although I have no memory of it. I’m scared that I am truly a monster and I’m using OCD as an excuse—and that she’ll find out and distance herself. I’m just scared that my whole world is gonna fall apart, all around me.
I’m 19 and struggle with health anxiety, contamination, harm, and magical thinking OCD and would love to meet people with similar experiences and hardships because I have never had an opportunity for such a supportive community!
