Can you guys share your small wins from the past few weeks!? Success stories? Tips and tricks that helped you when you needed it? I think we all need some encouragement and positivity!
Hi!! I really hope I will not seem offensive to anybody! If I am, or if my comment is somehow innapropriate or unwanted,please let me know! So maybe I could delete or change! I struggle with several forms of OCD, but a big one is religious OCD, because I am a christian, It constantly makes me afraid that I am not on the right path, not doing Gods will,or somehow just being sinful/bad But quite recently I felt very encouraged by Bible verses that showed me that these feelings are not Gods voice, such as "There is no fear in love", and "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind", and by these and more I was so encouraged to know that these feelings weren't the truth 😊🙏🏻 (Again, I hope I will not be offensive to anybody!)
@JesusIsLord7 It’s not offensive, I get you! I’ve been trying to grow in my faith more and while dealing with ocd it is really hard! God knows that we’re struggling and he is with us, just keep praying, reading your Bible and seeking him! Also remember that one day we’re gonna have the most powerful testimonies because of this and we can use that to help others! GOD IS SO GOOD!
@DannyO507 Thank you!! 😊🙏🏻 I am trying to read my Bible and pray, and for many years it went quite well (but I didn't always know I had OCD, so I kept pushing myself, to the point that it felt more like religion at times🙏🏻) and now (not just because of OCD, but other mental issues) it feels harder for me to pray or try to seek the Lord; I know He is with me, and I go to church, prayer meetings (if it is not too much/compulsive) and listen to the Bible, and even read small bits (trying not to overexert myself 😊🙏🏻) But I tend to feel a little guilty for not really feeling able to pray as much as I used to, or read as I used to.. I feel almost like I have a spiritual burn out, or I just asked a little too much of myself for a long while 😊🙏🏻 Could mine be a 'normal' experience in the case of OCD? To feel spiritually tired or burnt up, or to feel guilty for not doing "enough" or not being able to do what you 'used to do'? (I do have other mental issues that take up a lot of energy now )🙏🏻 Sorry for the long comment!! 🙏🏻 deep down I know that God does not expect me to do anything for Him, and His yoke is easy.. but I still keep feeling anxious if missing His voice now that I find spiritual practices harder, and I actually do need His guidance currently in a relationship situation 🙏🏻 Super sorry about the long text!! 🙏🏻
@JesusIsLord7 Just remember to remain faithful with the Lord. Recently I’ve been finding myself in sin and I can physically, mentally, and emotionally feel the disconnection from God and I’m trying to get myself back onto the right path. Even though the enemy will keep on attacking and throwing everything they can at me, we know who’s victorious in the end and that God is all powerful and he keeps his promises.
Needed this today!! I have been catching myself more and more when I get spirally, call it out, and do something else! I have been staying off of reddit more than usual too :) How about you?
@buggyladyxo Me too, it’s been a day for sure! I’m so happy we have this little community where we can all help each other! That’s great!!! Staying off Reddit even just a little less is hugeeee!! Great job, I’m proud of you! I have been able to make myself actually get up and be productive instead of wallowing all day long! I made myself go to the gym and biked for 10 miles, I haven’t went back to the gym in about a week or so! So that made me happy! I have also found that going outside, tanning and reading a good book with a drink has been helping so much I would recommend to anyone!!

When I started ERP, things were so much more confusing, stressful and obsessive. But now, since I stuck with it, everything feels 10x clearer, calmer, and in control. It really does work!
@OutstandingCutieDisorder I’m so glad to hear that!! I’m proud of you for sticking with it even thought in the beginning it felt worse!! I hope that it continues to improve and for your recovery!! :)
Driving has been bothering me on and off lately, and I went on a 6 hour roundtrip drive that really put me through my paces. LOTS of anxiety. But I did it and, by the end of it, only felt stronger and less concerned about my OCD revolving around driving.
@OCD Helping Hand That’s great!!! 6 hours is crazy!! And the fact that you did it even through the anxiety is amazing! I’m so proud of you! That took a lot of effort and you DID IT! Awesomeness!
Hi all, I wanted to share an OCD win that I had this past week. I recognized and stopped a compulsion. I felt the urge to keep going with the physical compulsion of checking on my son before going to sleep to make sure he was still breathing and to pull the blankets down away from his neck, but I knew it was a compulsion and I used my ERP skills and didn't go and check. Even though my intrusive thoughts haven't been too bad the past few months, I still have them and still have my ups and downs. With me continuing with my ERP, I know that is why I am still on the upside of my OCD. Without it, I wouldn't have the skills to get through the bad times. What’s a small win you had last week in your OCD journey?
What’s one small win or act of bravery you’ve had this week, even if it felt really hard? **OCD recovery isn’t about perfection—it's about progress, even if it's tiny. Maybe you delayed a compulsion by 30 seconds. Maybe you showed up here today to express you struggles or support others. These are wins, and they matter. Let’s celebrate them together.
Today I over came something that had been consistently bothering me with my contamination OCD and I'm over the moon I never thought I could do it yesterday the anxiety was there but I sat with and it faded I'm so happy thank you for all your support guys and I recently started working out and I feel much better To anyone out there struggling it gets better trust me a few months ago I was at the Lowest point in my life I couldn't even leave my house I failed really badly at school but now I can even go outside I try to socialize some days are harder than others and I've had a few hiccups along the way but it has gotten much better And I'm starting a recovery course for school to make up for my grades I'm so happy guys 😭then I can finally get into uni
