I have heard that ACT therapy is helpful for both.
I am someone who has two therapists. One through the NOCD program, and an outside therapist. I think it is beneficial to have both, or even a support system outside the app. I would start with a NOCD therapist because they can give you great resources and a full diagnoses when you start. They can help you with deciding whether a therapist outside the program can be helpful. NOCD luckily is pretty accommodating on pricing even when out of pocket. You can speak to your therapist or peer advisor when you start the program!
