Yes agreed there is more emotion behind I miss talking to you.
Means the same thing to me.
Interesting...I feel differently. Though, I suppose that's not surprising - this is a fairly subjective question. Compared to "I miss talking to you", "I miss you" feels more personal. It's like the difference between saying you miss doing something fun with an individual as opposed to saying you simply miss being/existing with them. The latter feels more close and less casual I guess.
