Low dose Prozac
Has anyone on here ever had success with a low dose of Prozac? 5mg?

Yes, I’m on 10mg and it definitely helps. The plan is to try to move me up to 15 or 20 to get more relief but it’s still a huge difference being on it at 10. Not sure about 5mg but I would think it would do something, better than nothing. Maybe start there and see how it goes
@OCDMM I started on 10mg but it was too much for me. I decided to stop but I really want to do everything to deal with my depressive symptoms. So my doctor cut it in half. My body is sensitive to meds. It’s really easy for me to feel side effects because of how hypersensitive I am.
@AcceptUncertainty A lot of people have fewer side effects on Lexapro, not my experience but seems like for most people so maybe you could go higher on a different SSRI
@OCDMM I started on Celexa and then moved to Lexapro. Neither worked, so they then moved me to Prozac.
Yeah, I have the same problem, this is the third I’ve tried and I tolerate it the best but I seem to have issues when I moved up on Paxil and Lexapro. Hoping I can go higher on this one. I can’t seem to ever get to a “therapeutic dose”
i’m on 20mg now i was originally given 10mg but i wasn’t consistent with it because i could never remember if i taken it or not and i was scared to double dose bc i didn’t know the side effects lol but 20mgs have been okay with me so far i’ve been on it for 4 weeks now the only mild side effects i’ve noticed is weird dreams and sleeping long hours during the night.
I just ended my 2 year relationship with an amazing guy because my intrusive thoughts wouldn’t stop. I started Prozac 9 days ago and the first few days, I felt great and all the original love I had for my partner came flushing back. The next few days I started becoming anxious and today I had to leave work because I could not stop ruminating. When I initially broke up with him I felt a split second of relief, but now I am having the same feelings that I was having before and I don’t know what to do.
Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.
I just got diagnosed with ocd and she suggested I think about taking lexapro for it. Has anybody tried that and does it help at all?
